South Africa Soccer world cup thread!

Ok guys, it started down there. Vent your defeat frustrations here! :D

Watched a documentary of the "genetics of the world cup" studying which teams would have the most likely chances of winning through the championship. I laughed a bit. Last few championships (including Euro) many favorites fell way short early in the competition but to see some dark horses proceeding, sooo... no early prognostics possible.

I will say that my national team has been playing poorly and very few people believe it could win or procede very far.

I watched both games.

Honestly, France and Uruguay was one hell of a boring match, but South Africa and Mexico played a very nice game.

South Africa's team is very well prepared phisically. Those guys are in excellent conditions. They had accurate and fast passes, Parreira did a nice job with them. Funnily enough, the same idiot screwed up the Brazilian 2006 team, which had an awesome line-up (not comparable at all with the 1982 'dream team' [maledetto Paolo Rossi...], but still a good one.)

Speaking of World Cups, here's a funny thing: every time a team wins, everyone forgets about all bloopers and stuff.

I guess, as football fans, you've heard of the Brazilian "Golden Era", right? Any of you remember the 1970 squad? Pelé, Carlos Alberto, Jairzinho, Tostão, Gerson, Rivelino and co. This squad gave Brazil it's third title. Of course, it's referred as one of the best teams ever put together, but, well, here's some funny stuff the very same World Champion team did and no one remembers about...

France is poor, bet on a South Africa passing the group...

I'm not very into this years World Cup, I ain't got time to follow everything like I used to with the past World Cups since Mexico '86. My job gets in the way a lot lately, for instance yesterday was a killer, from 6:00AM to 10:00PM in the office so I didn't check any of the games played yesterday. Don't have time to watch the news too! baah...Plus Croatia didn't qualify so noone is very excited to discuss it throughout the day in these regions...

They are very well however it has to be said the roos are an accessible team. I was expecting a big difference in goals.

Watched every game and only Germany play nice football.

Argentina, as usual, is dangerous.

South Korea overwhelmed Greece.

England... I like their premier league, their style of playing. But, Italian for coach - nah. They play for score now. It's not suited for them.

Serbia? They play as they

Was at the Germany - Australia game, pretty intense but the aussise should of been awarded a penalty for a hand balll, it was pretty obvious. Otherwise they seem pretty shattered afterwards. Even all the aussie news crews outside the stadium didn't look to happy with the germans.
