hannibal Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 OK, just curious if any one can tell us about multi-core and the A-10C. last i heard was that on DCS Black Shark, the simulation engine just basically used two cores and did not go beyond that. If I recall also, the sound and graphics was handled by Direct X, so that portion of multi core usage will utilize as many cores available, because Direct X was under the Windows subsystem... SO WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS, whats the deal?? will the simulation engine utilize all cores, if one had a quad-core, or hexa-core? (i7 x980 owner here...) find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Last I heard 64bit is being implemented first (we may see this with A-10) before more Multithreading. As it is now, only the sound engine and DirectX itself are multicore aware. Nate 1 Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
