AB Fences, Buildings, and other static objects texture mod.

Recommended Posts

OK, think i'll be releasing a new version of this mod soon, one of the main things that's driven me were the sizes of the insulator discs on the electricity pylons:

current version:

updated version:

there maybe another big change too...the chainlinks of the airbase fences are showing up on other structures, mostly producing undesirable results.

I'll post more on that later :)

Right, heres a few of the reasons why i've decided to drop the chainlinks from the fence texture:

such a shame really :(

I'll be releasing a .rar package soon, it'll contain 2 MODMAN files, one will have the chainlinks and the other won't.

Both mods will, however, contain the updated insulator rings on the powerlines as shown in the previous post.

The tros.tga texture was used in FC1.12 as well so just drop the texture in your temptextures folder and it'll work.

NP Vecko

Actually, the attachment i've uploaded is newer than the one on ED's file exchange website ;)

includes a new texture for the radar dishes (excuse the texture warping, ED's fault, not mine)

I know i know, i bet many of you may be thinking "whats the point in wasting time on pointless stuff like this?" :D

Well, i think it's important, especially if you're hovering around a city in a Ka-50, these crappy graphics can really show :)

In order to make DCS girlfriendly game can you stick some posters in theatre widows?

My specs? nowhere near the power of many peoples PC's in this forum:

Intel C2D E7500 @ 3.15ghz

Radeon HD3850 512mb @ 8xAGP

ATi Catalyst 10.6 and running @1920x1080 4xAA 8xAF with AdaptiveAA enabled

Soundblaster X-Fi Xtremegamer soundcard

2gb DDR400 RAM

Win7 32bit

and trust me, i can run these mods all day with no problems, i wouldn't be bothering making them otherwise :)

Also bear in mind, all i'm doing is creating some higher resolution .tga's and .bmp's, nothing geometrical that could strangle CPU and kill FPS ;)

One other thing to add before i forget : all these textures are compressed into a single .cdds file, that saves a heck of alot of resources and CPU usage.

How about taking a look at the textures inside the Hangars?

When you start inside of them... you just want to get out of it ASAP.

I have some TOMCAT hangar textures with posters, I made this edit in order to make 'em feel more live, look here:
