Butch_Jupiter Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Hello everyone. I used modman to extact an f-5 skin from the cdds file in FC2. I have made my own template and a new skin and now I need to know if anyone has any information on what I need to do to install it so it will appear as an option as a seperate skin. In other words I want to know if anyone can give me some hints or provide me with any information about doing this. Is there a tutorial somewhere about what files might need to me modified? I have done it in FC1 and I am experienced in installing mads with modman but not in creating them myself(with modman). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Michelange Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 The F-5 is a old 3D model in .CMD format (look in bazar/world/shapes). The number of skins and the name of the texture files is coded in this .CMD file. What does that mean ? - You are limited and you can only replace an existing skin (texture). - If your texture has the same name, size ( ex :1024x1024) and format (ex : BMP) as the original, modman will replace it in the .CDDS. If it's bigger (ex :2048x2048 ) it will place it in temptextures. - It is only possible to add a new texture to the existing when the 3D model is in .LOM format. The skins are then listed in a corresponding .skins file. EVAC : French fighter school on LockOn: Flaming Cliffs Moding tutorials at C6
