VERGEEV Group campaign RELEASED!

Recommended Posts

Ha ha - like everyone else! :)

I was just wondering, as on my last recent visit to the Vergeev website, 1/20 was still for sale for 1.0.2, so I guessed why not?

I still have 1.0.2 installed, specifically for the older missions and this campaign.

I think the reason we see so few missions released for DCSW and the two v1.1.1.1 releases is because ED/DCS change compatibility with each patch. I think they are slowly killing off the indie mission making scene.

I only make small missions for myself - mostly to practice one procedure or another. I have little incentive to go further into complex mission making as it may well change any time and I'd be back at square one.

Same is true for those that would build a good in-depth payware compaign.

First I think the reason we see so few campaigns (like none) for DCSW is that there is no way to protect against redistruction of the files. It is not stand-alone software that can be installed in conjunction with some keygen installer software, it is just a bunch of files that are placed in a folder. Some developers recognize this and they don't think it is a huge problem, others aren't so sure.

Eh? Missions made pre A-10C are still compatible with A-10C+. Sure it might take some work to make it compatible(ALL with AI tasking), its not like it ISN'T compatible and you can't use previous work...

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

I think there won't be a "final" version of BS2 for a long time, but the missions api is pretty stable now as far as I know.

Could you please update your released missions? I can't do it because of the edit-protection.

I'm in the final stage of testing after making this campaign 100% compatible withe DCS World v1.2.5. However, I'm not sure how this will be made available to previous owners. I'm in no way affiliated with Vergeev Group, but am in contact with the producer. Stay tuned.

I assume your software transfer is payware, right?

Guess I wasn't too clear -- it is not my software, nor do I have any rights to it -- I simply edited the missions to make them compatible with the current DCS World (quite a bit of work, actually -- but I learned a lot). I won't be providing the updated campaign to anyone, except the producer, who can do with it what he wants (hopefully he'll make it available to current and future owners of the campaign).
