sounds like your not waiting long enough. The launcher is separate from the game engine.

Launcher I believe is OPEN GL, and the game is DX. So you will get a new window pop-up.

did you update the patches also?

V 1.0 has very long load times, and it switches to desktop while loading. How long did you wait before bringing up the task manager etc??

Through the link I gave you.

Follow the directions in it.

DxDiag report:

Use Start->Run: DXDIAG and "Save All Information, to a TXT file" for the report.

In the forum post - upload it using "Go Advanced", then press the "Manage Attachments" in the section below the post. Upload the TXT file.

That'll give us a complete picture in one go.

Andrew, Drop the caps lock, please.

Mastiff, laptops can play DCS:BS quite fine if they have the right hardware. I played it for a while on a laptop that was similar to his (though a stronger CPU, but weaker GPU).

Andrew, what I am most interested in looking at from the DxDiag is stuff like drivers, codecs and suchlike. Easiest if you just upload the info file directly. Again, directions in the post I linked you to.

Mastiff, that is unrelated.

There is nothing technically below requirements there.

So Andrew, you have 1 real DVD drive, 4 virtual CD drives and one virtual DVD drive... Why would you clog your computer like that?

That said, I'm not finding anything obviously wrong in a cursory glance aside from that. I assume you have tried the normal switch-to process and such? Alt-tab or through directly selecting the process.
