Operating System: Windows 2008 RC2 Server x64 (available for free from DreamSpark if you are a student or work in academic area).

Processor: AMD 1055T

It seems that BlackShark can take some advantage of 6 Core CPU

The simple way to do it is assign the cores for simulator.exe with windows task manager

The more complicated way to do it is to open the autoexec.cfg in the config folder and change the line --> affinity_mask = 0

to this for 2 cores --> affinity_mask = 3

to this for 3 cores --> affinity_mask = 7

back to this for all cores --> affinity_mask = 0

click on the processes tab in task manager and then right click on the simulator.exe and select affinity, then untick all cpu's except cpu0 for 1 core, and then select cpu0+1 for 2 cores etc etc

EDIT:

Snap, Nate got there a second or so before me, follow his example of doing it, to save any confusion.

You might want to close Opera before the next benchmark and screenshots too... :music_whistling:

6 cores at 20% = 2 cores at 60%

It's more like directx is "separating" threads in the process, not that the sim is optimized for multicore cpu (outside the sound engine that has its own thread).

AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Thanks guys. I'll do it tomorrow after exam, and will post the results.

CPU is not overclocked, and I didn't play with Blackshark configuration file.

I think Opera doesn't have an noticeable effect on CPU utilization.

All I see is threads being jumping from one core to the other. If it was truly multithreading then all charts would be leveled at the same time intervals, not swapped between them.
