Prophet4no1 Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 So, I get a killer discount at my new job. I have an X52 right now but need pedals. What one is better in your guys's mind? At my cost they are about the same price. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Feuerfalke Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I prefer the Saitek pedals because the footrests are further apart. If you're in the business, you could also find out, when Saiteks new rudder pedals are going to be released: MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
Prophet4no1 Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 The buyers tell me nothing. lol I'm waiting on a few things. The redone EVGA x58 Classified board being one. All I know is what ever the ship date, we get them in my store a month later. Everything goes to the distribution center first. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Noname_vvs Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Hi guys! saitek.... CH....third rate plastic and nothing more if you need pedals the only one way is... (see the attachment) you may purchase it on http://vkb-flightsimcontrols.com/index.php I've been using the previous version (14 series) about 2 years - excellent precision, without backlashes, steel, life assurance...
Pilotasso Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I got CH. They are not much to look at but they are solid and reliable piece of kit. You can also program it with advanced scripts (for toe brakes for example). .

Noname_vvs Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 unfortunatly site is only on russian but I try to translate the most important parts.... VKB - is virtual constructional bureau. 3 оr mabe 4 enthusiasts from Moskow (Russia) and Minsk (Belorus). They design and product pedals. It's not manufacturing but hand made. So you'll have to wait a time after purchasing (I had waited about 1 mounth). Construction of pedals: - material - steel (I tried to stay on them - nothing happened) - sheeting - polymer+zincifying - 10 ball bearigs - controller - digital magnetoresistive sensor (for every axe). precision - 4000 for rudder, 1000 for brakes Main features - regulateble angulation of footrest +-35 degrees - regulateble height of footsteps - 3 position - footsteps - 280x110 mm in Bf-109 style - weight - about 5,4 kg There are 3 types of pedals: - Mk18-1 - 1 axe (only rudder) - Mk18-2 - 2 axes (rudder and brakes on 1 footstep) - Mk18-3 - 3 axes (rudder and brakes on both of footsteps) pedals aren't cheap - $300, $360 and $410 respectively. But I suppose it's worth it... PS: sorry for my english
Prophet4no1 Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 I'm not dumping 2-3 times my HOTAS cost in my pedals. To be honest, I can not justify paying that much anyway. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Prophet4no1 Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 So a dead heat between the two. Guess I can not go wrong either way. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I'm using Saitek Pro Flight Rudders for 6 years now w/o any problems whatsoever...I was thinking of upgrading to a "Saitek Combat" but there's really no need as long as Pro Flights work flawlessly! However these VKB's really seem worth 400$ and now you got me thinking! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Succellus Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 400 USD on rudders ? your kidding right they are more expansive than the German ones, and look way less quality. 104th_Crunch Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Well, if u own other CH stuff, the CH pedals allow you to make it look like all your controllers are 1 controller. handy for old sims and new games that even in this day and age only support 1 controller. Hi guys! saitek.... CH....third rate plastic and nothing more ... Umm, What is exactly third rate plastic? Is that a grade of polymer I have not heard about? :) Yes, they are plastic. No, they are not third rate. It is first rate industrial ABS plastic. Many industial applications of controllers use this high grade plastic. Edited May 6, 2011 by Crunch

Sov13t Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 So a dead heat between the two. Guess I can not go wrong either way. One thing I would recommend considering is the width, as already pointed out the Saitek's are further apart. For me, with my HOTAS set up so that the stick is in the middle (between the legs) having narrower CH would be impossible. Saitek's are great, and if used and maintained properly will last a long time. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 51st PVO Regiment | Forum | Statistics DCS: MiG-21Bis
armrha Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Wow. Those VKBs really look nice. I am using the pedals in the Logitech G940 set, and I have to say I find them workable but less than ideal. Too close together, not quite enough feel when they are dead center. Expensive, but they look like they'll last a lifetime.
S77th-konkussion Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 CH pedals are top quality stuff. Just fugly. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
