X52pro Drop Check

Recommended Posts

Hairy.. um.. yeah...

You need the SST software from the Saitek website. After installing it Download the profile and move it to:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Saitek SD6 Profiles

All commands in this profile are in the SST profile except for 6 of them. Take note of the key on the diagram. The black items are done in game. It's necessary to delete everything in the X52pro column ingame, then add these 6 items.

Programming profiles isn't difficult, but it's involved. Take some time to get to know your new device.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Well, this profile wouldn't work from the in game settings. Take note that it uses all three modes (color coded by the color that is on the stick when in that mode). Have you considered running SST without the "Direct Output" service running? That service fubars everyones system as far as I know. Just go into services, find the Direct Output service, and change it from automatic to disabled. It will never give you another problem. Vegas strip calls. Luck to you.

Luxor looks awesome, though I've never stayed there. Something about a black shiny pyramid that I just love. Watch the casinos in the big hotels, there's a reason they look so nice...

Try Wild Bills on the south end of the strip, they pay out. Also, watch for any dealer who has a manager watching them, and stay away from (forgive my stereotyping) the Asian dealers. I think my favorite for looks and energy is the Aria. They also have a huge poker room you can buy into and win big if you.. ahem.. play your cards right.

Some people are having trouble with functions not working on the X52pro since beta2 install. The controller lua files had code changes. I would check that any assignments that aren't working properly are clear in your ingame setup. If all joystick assignments ingame are as needed you can do the following to ensure everything is clean:

Make any quick change to your ingame setup and save it. Then go into your C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C Beta\Config\Input\Aircrafts\A-10C\ subfolders and remove each of the files that are dated with todays date and time (there's a new time stamp on the files due to the change you just made). After you restart the sim, all will be back at defaults. Go into Realistic/All and delete all joystick assignments, then add the assignments that are labeled black in the diagram.

Any Update to Your Profile

StongHarm, are you planning on updating your profile? I've been using it since the first Beta. If you're going to update your X52Pro graphic, should switch the ID descriptions DMS/TMS-Forward and DMS/TMS-Aft. Forward(UP) should be on top while Aft(DOWN) is at the bottom, your's seemed to have it reversed, confused the hell out of me the first time using the profile. Also if you can make the the graphic on one page I can then print it as a separate page; for whatever reason I can't separate the spreadsheet detail from the HOTAS graphic when placing it in a MS Word (doc) file.

I appreciate your work, keep it up.

Tony

Thanks for the kind note and positive feedback points.

I updated the original post with a new profile, dated notes, and two new pics.

Thank you very much. I also bought now this X52pro and installed your profile. I am just too rookie to setup those black controls ingame. Could someone point me the action names & ingame key/buttons for throttle, zoom view, roll trim and pitch trim?

Edit: Nevermind. I finally found those in axis menu - throttle joy Z and zoom joy slider 1. And those other were not included.

Zoom Slider

Hi

Many thanks Harm for the use of your profile,it is appreciated.

I remember in black shark not being able to use the pitch slider as it jitters/jumps in the game, is there any way around this as it's perfect for using as the zoom.

I had been using someone elses profile and it seems as if i've got to learn the sim from scratch again. lol.

is there any way around this as it's perfect for using as the zoom.

I tried everything I could to get the slider input to stop jumping around, including ordering a powered USB adapter.. no joy. I settled for using the slider, not for precision zoom, but to control three positions. I go into my ZoomView/JoySlider1 axis tune and make my settings:

Deadzone: 0

.............X: 100

.............Y: 100

......Curve: 100

.......Slider: Unchecked

.......Invert: Checked

UserCuver: Unchecked

This gives you the ability to zoom full in, zoom full out, and center. I've found it saves me the diversion of trying to find that perfect zoom on something. The three positions are truly the most useful.

Hello, but how can I set the trim on the rotary?

Since this sims control profile is really built around the Warthog HOTAS, I don't believe there's a way to set the trim to the rotaries. I tried to use the key assignments for each trim direction to the rotaries in the Saitek software unsuccessfully. The assignments worked, but the nature of setting a single key assignment (rather than axis assignments) to the rotary directions made it unusuable.

I've set the clutch button (see diagram) to "stick to trimmer" mode within the sim (black lettering, see key) rather than the Saitek profile. In effect, you hold "stick to trimmer" then move your flight stick in the direction you want more trim. I've become accustomed to it and actually prefer it over the rotaries now.

I don't know if they plan on allowing axis assignments for trim in the future, but I'm not sure I'll use it if they do.
