Some Question.

HI all So I have some questions. :pilotfly:

 

1.In Instant Action : Is there more mission or is always the same one, can I modified this to be like random mission or there are more target hidding around that I dont know cause is always the same ones?

 

2. Enemy detection: I fly around with label is easy "still" how can I detect enemy from far away without labels and the help of a wingman using him for recon. Do I have to be in hover in diferent points of the map where I think there could be and stard looking thruth the Shkval until I found some or there another way Iam missing?

 

3. Laser warning receiver, well is this work for some type of missile lock only or it work for all, Is there a loud buzz of something that let me know when in danger or do I have to keep and eye to the lights only?

1) No idea sorry.

 

2) Basically yes, keep your eyes open, use the shval to look at the areas your intel tells you the enemy may be. I like to do a few things:

 

a) fly high and keep my eyes open for movement (for convoys)

b) race around at low altitude (but fast) listening and looking for tracers.

 

When I see something I then make a mental note (or a map reference if I have the time) and then reposition myself for the kill.

 

3) There is an audible laser lock if I recall. The lights are merely there to tell you which direction that came from. Although you must remember to reset them, otherwise if you get painted from all sides, and then get locked again you don't know from where as all the lights remain illuminated.

tnhkz paul for the respond. When you say you fly high is that normal for a combat choper. I though that I was supose to fly close to the ground.

 

Other so I will love if some can answer number 1 question, realy weird if only the same mission again and again for instant action.

1. The instant action mission is LUA coded to a single mission file. It's really just a shortcut to a single mission. You can change it to a different mission but will always be a simple shortcut.

 

Don't get too obsessed with flying at low altitude. Unless you're worried about enemy aircraft or the longer ranged SAMs, it's nearly almost always better to be up in the 300-500m range. DCS enemy see through trees a lot better than you can. All the tank-with-a-fan-on-top style tactics were developed for Cold War scenario fighting where being up high was suicide and a human enemy could actually be surprised.

 

3. LWR only tells you about lasers. Tanks, Strykers, Bradleys will illuminate you to for range as well as the Stinger Avengers. Apaches will illuminate you continuously to guide their Hellfires. The German SPAAG ranges as well I think. Most IR SAMs are passive imaging behavior only so no warning except the streak.

 

Betty should get chatty with you when the LWR goes off. Get safe and reset before relying on it again.

Cool Frederf!! Very helpfull. I think I will stard changing my fly tactics, I always though that flaying a chooper was nap to the ground seeing those videos of the apache poping up from trees fire a misile and then nap to ground again, but I guess if trees are no helpfull in cover theres no meaning in naping to mush.

 

About the lua file of the instant action can you be kind to point me where is located in the files?

 

Anyways Tnhkz again for everything, I guess I will try to have the must fun out of this until A10 realese in box and they get there manual printed, I like to read in book like I do with the blackshark manual, I know I can print the hold 600 pages but is gonna cost me more money printing in my country. Iam more of a fixed wing pilot but I always love to fly the cobra in Battle filed 2 lol and I was good, this sim is hard to learn and more realistec just the way I like it!!
