FOXFIRE TWOONE Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Well I finally got some MAV's off and on TGT today :) but after first lock and launch the A-10 rollercoaster'ed and I could not figure how to stop it. Could someone point me in the direction in the :book: manual that covers this senerio. Or a hint too the solution. :helpsmilie: Intel core I9 10900K 3.7 ghz Asrock Z490 Extreme4 G-SKill Ripjaws V 32GB Cooler Master 120m GTX 980 Superclocked Corsair AX850w psu Samsung 1 T M.2 2 X 850 ssd's Sony 48 in HD TV Trackir 5 Hotas Warthog F/A-18C Hornet Grip Logitech Pro Peddles Windows 10 64
Bulletstop Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 ok was the auto pilot on before the launch? I always start about 15 to 12 miles away hit auto once lined up on target then I start looking for targets, line em up, lock em, and shoot em :). I can salvo all 6 in seconds on a steady platform. Bullet I7 4790K running at 4390 with a gigabyte board with 16 gigs of ram with an Asus gtx 660-ti and 2 tb of hard drive space on 2 wd hard drives. A X-65F Hotas with trackir4 and pro combat peddles. A kick butt home built machine unfortunately running a windows 7 OS.
GunnDawg Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I know you hit 1 to hold altitude but what number holds your altitude and heading? and do I have to hit 1 and then the other number or just the other number? 2, 3, 4 ?
power5 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 1 engages and disengages. 2,3,4 are the different modes. Not sure which are which. Just push a number and look at the switch. Bulletstop Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I have as normal hdg/alt right under the throttle. the switch should be set to hdg/alt. Bullet I had A/P on before I tried to lock but disengaged it because the times I got a lock with it engaged the same thing was happening, and I would get the audiable, ( warning autopilot ), disengage it, and still the rollercoaster ride after the disengage. :noexpression: ? So as long as my distance is not to (close) and (alt), not to high the A/C should fly strait and level during lock with A/P engaged. Or dose either to the two matter pertainging to a lock and flight sys when using MAV's. Bulletstop Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 yes in fact because I usually use lgb's and mav on the same load out I will be at about angles 10 and 7 to 4.5 nm away and no problems launching. I hope that helps. if you are manuevering it may have a hard time setting the ap. Always best to be straight and level if possible. Weta43 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 "So as long as my distance is not to (close) and (alt), not to high the A/C should fly strait and level during lock with A/P engaged" Once you've stablaised at the altitude you engaged your AP at (assuming you're on Radio Alt) it will fly straight & level regardless of how close or high you are, or whether or not you're locked wit the MAV. Cheers.
Bulletstop Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 forget it I did not read fully my bad :) Bullet I7 4790K running at 4390 with a gigabyte board with 16 gigs of ram with an Asus gtx 660-ti and 2 tb of hard drive space on 2 wd hard drives. GunnDawg Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I notice if I hit "1" on the keyboard it holds altitude so it must engage the A/P and also engage an altitude hold mode.
FOXFIRE TWOONE Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Thanks to all for you input on the A/P. In one day I have gone from being very frustrated to ( very confident ) that I can learn this SIM. I am now able to ( Lock Launch and hit targets with MAV's with ease now, and drop bombs on TGT in same run. ;) :pilotfly: :) Intel core I9 10900K 3.7 ghz Asrock Z490 Extreme4 G-SKill Ripjaws V 32GB Cooler Master 120m GTX 980 Superclocked Corsair AX850w psu Samsung 1 T M.2 2 X 850 ssd's Sony 48 in HD TV Trackir 5 Hotas Warthog F/A-18C Hornet Grip Logitech Pro Peddles Windows 10 64
