This is getting kind of specific but since I spent 2 hrs last night getting it just right I figured I'd share the results of the effort.

I have all CH Products flight controls: CH fighter stick, CH Pro Throttle, and CH Pro Petals. I've had them for over 6 years now and they have survived multiple moves and getting knocked around by my sometimes childish tantrums after crashing or getting shot down. Anyways, they rock.

The CH Throttle has a mini stick and I've really never used it because it was way too sensitive and I was too lazy to fiddle with it. Well, I finally got around to setting it up. In this case, as the slew control for the TGP on the A-10C. Amazing results! Took awhile to get it right but now the TGP slew responds perfectly to minor and large movements to the mini stick. If you have one you must first go into axis controls and assign the mini stick to the x and y axis for the slew controls. Here are my settings in the Axis Tune for both X and Y:

Dead Zone: 0

Saturation X= 100

Saturation Y= 21

Click on "Use Curve"

Set sliders from left to right as such: 0, 10, 20, 20, 20, 23, 27, 30, 50, 100.

The result of doing this will make the TGP creep a little when you adjust the mini stick a little and move quickly at full range motion of the mini stick. Essentially exponentially the more force applied. Much easier this way to acquire targets from 20 mi out instead of overshooting by using the key commands for TGP slew or mapping the keys to a hat switch. I'm also getting Maverick acquisitions around 6-7 mi now (26-34 sec flight time for maverick from about 8000 ft). The trick with the maverick, for me, is just keeping the target in the targeting gate on the MFD after making your maverick SPI. I also always use auto pilot (alt/heading) hold when shooting maverick approaches. Anyways, for what its worth, there it is.

This works great. I edited mine a bit just playing around with what you had and have mine at:

x and y dead zones at 5. (my stick moves around ever so slightly even after recalibration).

Moved Sat Y down to 15.

Moved sliders slightly down on 2,3,4

Still playing with the settings but you got me on the right path, thanks.

Thanks Azazel, it really made a difference, I feel a better Maverick experience and accurate GPS points for JDAMs in a breeze. Couple of things:

- I always have to set a deadzone band in my ministick, maybe I got it a little loose, around 5 or 7 it's ok.

- The curve points are 11 not 10 and after testing a bit I found that Y axis needs a slightly downshift like: 0, 10, 20, 20, 20, 23, 23, 27, 30, 50, 100, that works for me.

As CH owner is not easy to vindicate the need to switch to TM Warthog, because of the excellent product and quality, but as a grown up childs as we are, who can resist to the new toy?, well, not me! :joystick:

Thanks Azazel for sharing your settings. They seem to work pretty well! Things to note. You can manually set slew speed of TGP or Maverick seeker (see manual). Sensitivity of slew should change when FOV is of the display is changed. This is not implemented yet as mentioned in the beta post FAQ, but should come by the final version. Thanks again!

LOL. I just setup Black Shark with the same settings and it works EXCELLENT!!! I wish I would have found these settings long ago. I plan on updating my profiles for BS and A-10C on the CH site to use the mini stick and noting these settings in game.

Glad I could help! Having a blast flying this sim so far.

The problem with using these settings above is that you loose the maximum slew rate available. To fix this I used a script so that when the mini stick reaches the last bit of travel, key presses (, . / ; ) are sent. So, the ministick acts like a joystick and you can axis tune it in game, and when it reaches near the end of travel key presses are sent. Works great!

To add key presses to the ministick:

- leave the stick setup as a joystick

- Add the following script in the CM editor. If your Throttle is not JS1 (the first tab in CH Control Manager) change it accordingly ex. js2 instead of js1

script

// Ministick send keys near end of travel
 cms.b1 = [ js1.a2 < 16 ];
 cms.b2 = [ js1.a1 > 250 ];
 cms.b3 = [ js1.a2 > 250 ];
 cms.b4 = [ js1.a1 < 16 ];

endScript

- Add a CMS controls device to your profile

- in CMS Controls make

Button 1 ;

Button 2 /

Button 3 .

Well I've been fiddling around quite a bit too with the ministick setting and for me what does it is:

Deadzone = 0

Saturation X = 100

Saturation Y = 50

Curvature = 30

No Slider / No invert / No User Curve

This way I can slew it very slowly when pressing gently on it and the more I press on the ministick, the faster it goes.

I even removed the cms script from my CH profile since the above settings work perfect for me.

Thanks for sharing. I have got the TMWH now and really needs alot of muscle and finger power to press those things in!.. Concerning CH pro throttle, mine sometimes moves on its own causing TGP to veer off area. Any tips on cleaning the pot responsible? Also, I think the grey knob sometimes is a bit small on the pot itself, that I think maybe enlarging it with buildups or (god forbid- removing it and snapping a larger CNC version in).

I'm not criticizing the CH. Its very good setup and only if I could go back in time, I'd do it allover again and buy it. I'm keeping it as redundance in good storage in case the TMWH decides to die on me.

I use the mini stick on my CH Throttle for all the slew controls in DCS, A-10, F-15 etc. works great! You do need to adjust its sensitivity and throw in a dead zone to keep it from crawling.

yes I did so, but would have preferred a permanent fix to it. My young brother I'm desperately trying to get him to be a DCS'er like me, he's a console nut. Call it generation gap. If he bites, I'll have him take the CH and I'll be flying with him using LAN (hopefully there wont be any lag)...
