I am totally new to MP. As close I have ever got to it is in FSX and that hardly qualifies. Always been a single player person. I want to change that and I have two good friends that are very interested in the A-10 but do not want to purchase it for the single player aspect at all. Whereas, I cna enjoy both. The dilema is this. They want to be able to "be by themselves" in a MP game with me and others of our age group. Lets just say we are old timers. Is it possible to have a server and limit who is on it?

Can one person host and invite just 2 or 3 people? I know nothing about MP games and etc, if there is a place to send me to find the basics I would appreciate it. I will be reading all I can about Mp in that area but I have to start from the beginning. Thanks again

At the moment DCS:A-10 is still in development so multiplayer is not the complete experience.

Though in the future everything you wish for in your post will be easily achieved. Its a simple case of 1 of you selecting the option to start a server through the game and then giving his ip address to the other 2. They then select join game and input that ip address to connect to the host server, or visually see the server listed in the browser.

A huge selection of options are avaliable to the host before setting up a server such as max players, password etc.

Multiplayer couldn't be easier to set up. Enjoy.

Thank you. Sounds like something my friends are very accustomed to as they have set up servers in FSX. Much appreciated

Come fly FC2 on the 104th, at least get a Copy of Team Speak 3, which is a voice comms app http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads& and jump onto the 104ths server, if you cant find a link for the server on the forum I'll pm it to you.

That will give you a good idea of the community. Most of the pilots are mid 30's or older and to be honest the whole old timer thing is a bit condescending within the majority of this community, but having played some FPS's recently I wont hold that against you.

There are some good squads out there but if you are starting out the 104th is a good "open to the public" server that you can meet a large number of good pilots on.

Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J

Thanks for the invite. Having enough problems digesting the A-10 Beta and my mind just can't handle FC2. I had happened to purchase and receive it literally about 2 days before the A-10 Beta came out, so only had a couple of hours with it. I was looking to get back into combat sims (still do a WW1 some of the time) but as mentioned, I never did MP in a combat sim.

I do have TS from my FSX days and perhaps I will come take a listen and introduce myself if it isn't a problem. I would imagine once the bugs are gone from the A-10 beta, the 104th will be getting involved some also? Thank you again.
