dooom Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 landing at dusk pretty much blows the pipe. Anyone know if there are any mods out there to turn the deck lights on or at least wake the deck hands from their drunken stupor? Kenan Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) With ILS landing, you don't need the lights. Knowledgable pilots, by using IFR rules (Instrument Flight Rules) can land on Kuz without lights and even if there's no ship to land on! 104th_Crunch Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Yes, use ILS. With it you can land with near 0 visibility. In RL carriers don't advertise their position with lights at night.
Jinro Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 In RL carriers don't advertise their position with lights at night. *In war-time* In RL pilots would probably use NVGs....but FC2 has a habit of skipping on RL details....
104th_Crunch Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I have seen enough documentaries to tell you that even in peace time, most night lights are off. Regardless, you can land with just looking down at the instruments in FC and not looking outside once.
Kenan Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I have seen enough documentaries to tell you that even in peace time, most night lights are off. Probably as an excercise but not as a general rule. In peace time, there's no reason to risk pilots and equipement by shutting down all lights all the time. Jinro Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 (edited) I've seen enough documentaries showing that fighter aircraft never use NAV lights during the day, yet all the AI in FC2 do :P There are always lights marking the centerline and the edges of the deck. Edited November 1, 2010 by Jinro

What am i missing?:music_whistling: I assumed the lights (everywhere) in Lockon came on when it was "dark enough". Try a little later in the day? Pretty sure that thinggs like the moving cranes work the same way - they start at a certain time in the morning and stop at a certain time in the evening when the crane driver goes home for his dinner...
