hog_driver111th Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I need some help here guys (and any gals that might be lurking). For the last however long that I've had my cougar, I've been using the antenna knob as my rudders (worked pretty good too) since I really never had the money for anything else. Well, since I'm working at the airport with business jets, I get tips... which the wife let me use to buy the pedals. Now I can fly :pilotfly:hehe. Ok, here's the issue. They didn't come with the CD (bought off ebay for pretty cheap...) so I downloaded the driver and software from saitek.com. Before plugging in the pedals, I wanted to install the software (heard that was the way to do it). So, I start up the driver installer and it gets to the part that says "connect the device". When I do so, nothing happens. A bubble (windows 7) pops up in the bottom corner saying to install the driver software, so I open it... but it can't find anything. In the device manager, I try to do a search for the driver installer so the device manager can just be pointed at it, but still no luck. I'm happy to have my pedals, but I still have no pedals . Can any of you master PC/electronic guys(/gals) help? bumfire Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Did you download the driver software ? There is 2 things you need to install, the profiling software and the driver software. You sure you didnt just download the profiling software ???
Bulletstop Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 If you installed the driver software and thne you plug it in, it should automatically find the drivers and finish installing the device. With that said are you sure the peddels work? you bought them used? I have the peddels and it worked fine for me. hog_driver111th Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 yep, I'm sure it's the drivers file. "Saitek_Pro_Flight_Rudder_Pedals_SD6_64", The thing is is that I can't install the driver software. It gets to where I need to plug it in, and doesn't do anything from there. The pedal light turns on, and in the device manager it shows them there as the "Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals," but without drivers. Bulletstop Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Ok I do not see your specs, you have win 7 64? The reason I ask is if you do not and are installing 64 bit onto a 32 bit it will not work. So the machine recognize that a usb device is there but no driver, seems you have the wrong driver. sweinhart3 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 You should still be able to use them as a game device even without installing software although any special profiling/programmable options wouldnt be available. I was able to use TM Cougar without installing drivers, just wasnt able to use the software that came with it. hog_driver111th Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 (edited) I have no idea what I did different this time. I started the driver install again, tried going through 36 pages on the saitek forum trying to find the right answer, wanted to post here further on my problem, but couldn't come up with the right wordage for what my device manager said. (sorry for the long sentence, hehe.) Anyway, I couldn't find the pedals in my device mgr even though they were connected... the drivers had installed. (sorry for the long story.) Thanks for offering the support. I appreciate it even though the drivers installed fine this time. Ripcord Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 The Saitek Forums are a bit daunting but generally Richard over there will get you an answer. Probably some problem with 64 bit support, might be a a known fix for that. Ripcord [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
