Correcaminos Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Hi to all , i have a little question Is it correct that the piper of the CCIP mode will not remain fixed on the ground while i mantain clicked the weapon release button in 3/9 and 5 Mil modes? :noexpression: I think that this is a MAN release mode or this CCIP mode is not like Falcon ? Thanks for the anwers.
McVittees Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 In 3/9 and 5 mil mode the pipper should remain fixed on the ground until you release the pickle button. These two modes are referred to as consent to release. Half way house between CCIP and CCRP. I cant see the piper fixed on the ground in any CCIP mode , i keep pressing the release button all the time , but the piper still running ¿ is this a bug?
Correcaminos Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 In my opinion I think there should be some CCIP mode like Falcon . I think there should be more ways to launch , not only the MAN mode. If not, it would be impossible to hit upon a tgt at 5000 ft altitude in CCIP mode.
MasterZelgadis Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 DCS is simulating what the real A-10 can do. So if there is no "Falcon" CCIP Mode in the real Hog, it won't be in the sim. Miro Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 CCRP Rocks, CCIP = training, training, training (or take LGBs) :pilotfly:

And this is the way it should be. MasterZelgadis Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Additionally, unguided Bombs are not made to be dropped from high altitudes. Much too inaccurate. Use guided LGB or JDAMs from higher altitude. With dumb bombs you have to feel the shockwave giving you the speed boost for egress :D "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Correcaminos Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Ok, Thanks for the answers and clarify that the A10 has the limitation of only CCIP release MAN. Thus, the launch of Mks should be mandatory at very very low altitude
Shake3000 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Once you press weapons release in 3/9 or 5mil modes the pipper does not represent the actual bomb impact point. The impact point will usually remain out of sight in these modes. I think you are confusing this pipper with the MAN CCIP one. edit: also try the (beta 2) unguided munitions training mission, it's very good.
Frederf Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 That's not strictly true. There are two CCIP bombing modes, MANUAL and CR. Manual can only do "instant" CCIP style bomb release where the bomb comes off the rack when the weapons release button is pressed. As such it is only capable of being used with the immediate release HUD mechanization. CR has two options, 5 mil (more restrictive) and 3/9 (less restrictive). CR can do either the instant release or the delayed post-designate release. If one achieves the CCIP piper on the HUD (solid PBIL) and meets the release criteria (for 5 mil) then the bomb comes off immediately when pressing the release button.
