WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration

Recommended Posts

Turns out that the "Nvidia network service" is the culprit.

A quick search did not really gave me any explanation on what it is or does, but I assume it is related to the Nvidia streaming service.

The TARS log clearly showed connection errors, that pointed towards network problems.

Simply disabling the service in the windows services fixes the problem.

Only took all evening to figure out...

Good luck with your finals headspace. Stuka figured out the problem.

Thanks, I have one more to go. Grading exams is what takes a long time.

This is interesting. It could be a port conflict, in which case you can easily change that in the settings for TARS. If it turns out that the NVidia service is using the default TARS port it may be time to change that.

TARS requires a UDP connection. 99% of the time it goes to localhost, but some users prefer to run TS3 on a different machine.

Slightly OT, but is nVidia Network Service anything like the nVidia Network Access Manager for Forceware chipsets? As I recall, that was supposed to SLI your dual Ethernet ports, but instead acted as a firewall on top of your existing firewall and caused a lot of major connectivity issues.

Ok Problem Solved here is the Culprits of the issues(90% Sure)

TS Version 3.0.11

Tars Version 1.0.2.4

OS Win 7 64bit

1.Make sure as stated here before make sure Nvidia Network Service is uninstalled and Geforce Experience application as stated here,Restart PC

2. If You are still getting the the timeout error or a Malformed Packet Error (Importer 3827ff0: Error: Malformed packet header. Data HSDCS:1:hello:0 ) Go to Your AV software and Exclude the SaveDGame Games Folder and all SubFolders and Directories..

3. If You are still getting a Connection issue I have attached 2 Files (.Reg) in a Rar Archive File 1.Take Ownership(this will help eliminate the Permission of not having the right to Create edit files and will give your User Full control over that folder or files,I suggest Doing takeOwnership of the Username folder this will cascade down to all Subfolders included in your User(Note this is Best done when Multiple Users are on your machine and you are not full admin or admin rights are shared,ANd will take some time to complete Depending on the size of your drive etc.) File(.Reg) 2 is a Grant Full admin control for an specific Executable(Ex:Tars Control Panel.EXE)this will help if you are not familiar with messing with permissions on your system and will not mess anything up(Note:Beware of the Items you give Full Admin Control, cause some items are not meant to have Full Admin but just Read & Write Permissions)

4. I have Found this on my own but not sure if it was the causer of some timeout issue but it should be noted and if you have it on your system disable it and see if it fixes the (Importer 57a93a0: Connection timed out.) this is AISuite IControl Network Control Tool that comes with Asus AI SUITE,this program allows you to set priority to a Running Program Over the network connection making it the High Priority of network Usage, this is used for online gaming or a download app that you want to have max connection speed throttling down all others not set to high..

Now i have tars working with no issues and no errors on log file, the only thing i have noticed is this MSG that is getting spammed on the chat on TS in red(Spam Protection MSG) but besides that all works great....

Im as well willing to install tars Via Teamviewer for does still needing help, send me a PM and i will reply As soon as possible..

Best Regards

btw you don't need to uninstall the Nvidia Network service. Just change the port the TARS is using. Default is 48101. Changing to 48102 solves the problem.

You need to change the port in [teamspeak directory]/tars.ini

You don't need to go to the ini file. In the control panel, that's what the "Network" button is for. Either way works though.

The default port is going to change in future releases to avoid conflicting with the NVidia service.

Hi all,

What could be the reason for a log like this:

20:57:40 *** TARS Loading ***

20:57:40 Setting dead/spectator status.

20:57:40 Waiting for connection to Teamspeak 3...

20:57:46 TARS update cycle scheduled at modeltime 8472.827

20:58:00 *** TARS Unloading ***

Looks like TARS can't connect to TS3 (3.0.13.1), but why?

We tried a reinstallation of TARS (with administrator rights), checked the export.lua for the correct entry, and the tars_64.dll was in the correct TS3 folder. Plugin is activated in teamspeak - Plugins.

Also changed the ports to 48102.

Thanks for any help!

Edit: Deinstallation of nvidia experience solved the issue, TARS works now!

We are also suffering the same thing.

Uninstalled Nvidia Experience, changed port to 48102, and still same problem.

We have a major recording coming up on Saturday but we just can't seem to get this to work.

This is my TARS log, but it still said it TARS not running.

well for one thing it's still trying to use port 48101:

so maybe you forgot to set the port for the Plugin or the game?

Still, however, not working. I have tried hosting my own server as well. No dice.

When you guys uninstalled the Nvidia Experience, you did it through the control panel add/remove, and that was it right? No extra steps (Aside from the port change)

I didn't even uninstall Nvidia experience. TARS wasn't working when I tested it around New Year so I looked into this thread and excessiveheadspace mentioned that you probably don't even need to uninstall it, just change the Port.

That's what I did and a simple restart of TS after I joined the server was enough to get it working.

However the TARS.log Nirvi posted above is from someone who solved his problem by uninstalling Nvidia experience in addition to the port change.

As most of you know progress is at a trickle due to my being overcommitted elsewhere. However, the DI problem needs solving because it's a huge annoyance for people who would like to enjoy TARS while continuing to keep their TS3 clients updated, so I'd like anyone to confirm the following for me on 3.0.13.1:

1. Start TeamSpeak, connect to a server.

2. Enable TARS plugin if not already enabled.

3. Verify Input works.

4. Disable TARS plugin and re-enable.

5. Verify Input does not work. (Incidentally, disconnecting and then reconnecting from the server seems to resolve this)

Let me know, also, what you're using for input (Keyboard, Joystick, etc). Thank you.

Can someone point me in the direction of an updated tutorial for TARS on 1.2.7 and beyond?

I have everything set up in the installer correctly and it shows all green/installed in the control panel. TS3 plugin is enabled but doesn't say running in TS ever. Even after multiplayer game is loaded.

Running 3.0.12

Do I need to copy/move.edit any .LUA?

Do I need to run TARS on my server?

I received your PM but I am going to answer this here since it will benefit everyone.

First, there is never, under any reasonably likely circumstance, going to be a need to do a clean OS reinstall and/or drive format to correct issues with this mod. It is middleware; it doesn't interact nor utilize low level aspects of the kernel nor does it change anything on your computer that might. If you had to reinstall your OS, it meant something else (something serious) was amiss with your computer. I doubt that is the case, though.

Second, if it "just stopped" working, my first guess would be that whatever server you are using decided to disable export in the Saved Games\DCS\Config\etwork.cfg file.

If you are hosting then you will need to re-enable export if you have done this. If you are not the host, check with the host to see if export is enabled. I doubt the issue is serious. Make sure you are using a TeamSpeak version that supports DI.

Ok, I have a server running and in my network.config I have allow_export_objects = true

Is this what you are referring to?

Follow the instructions for getting the TARS logs on the TARS website. Send me the logs.
