I didn't want to interrupt the flow of the database thread asking this naive question, so I'm making this one. I'm sorry if this sounds dumb but what's the point of a location/serial number database? TIA.

Over time you'll also see newer batches of units popping up, and in some cases you'll be able to relate fixes/updates to various serial batches. It's just for fun mainly to see where, who and what # everyone has... :thumbup:

A small but practical reason - if the worst happens and I should have to send mine back under warranty, and it comes back with a different serial - I will for sure be looking it up to see if I have a refurb from someone else who sent theirs back that had problems too, so I can bitch or test as necessary.
