Wil there be a printed version of the manual?

ED are currently looking for a printer/binder big enough for the job. (tongue in cheek)

A lot of people are printing it out themselves there is argument if its best to wait for the rc and rc manual before going ahead in case there are changes.

i would guess that it will remain in PDF format as it would be costly to create several thousand manuals and thus drive up the cost of the final product and diminish sales.

if you have access to the Beta forum there is a thread in there about it.

If you'd like to print the manual yourself this thread will explain how to print the whole thing on 168 pages using booklet style. You could have a print shop use the same concept to print it much cheaper than 8.5x11 pages with a bind.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

There might be a printed manual sold separately, just like with DCS:BS. I don't know for sure though since that depends on whether that one actually sold enough to cover the expenses, and I don't know if it did.

It would be a shame if it did not. I think having the option to buy a printed manual is perfect! Besides, I now want conformity on my bookshelf! ;-)

Well they did manuals for FC/FC2, would be awesome though if they do it in colour, way better.

IIRC, if it happens, it would have to only partially in colour due to costs, i.e. only on pages that require it. That said even that may prove prohibitive and it may even have to be all monochrome. Nothing has been decided yet AFAIK.

Hi Nate

Personally I would be willing to pay the extra costs for a printed manual, i.e. all the pictures in colour and text where needed, agreed that some pages with no pictures wouldn't require colour.

I really hate it when you pull out a manual in B/W, just makes it feel cheap if you know what i mean :)

thanks Myth

I feel the same, however it is purely down to costs, and they are stupidly high for a colour print run IIRC. However nothing is set in stone at the moment.

I always buy the manuals but full color would be preferred, the 'pdf' manuals though are of good quality so nothing stopping an individual printing their own.

I was actually going to do it this week but maybe wait for the release in case there are any major changes to the manual.

Its not cheap though but worth it.

Buy a truckload of expended 30mm rounds and use them as the binder. Standby to receive StrongHarm's credit card information and further talk on. :)
