This one is strange. I was getting into Black Shark over the past couple of weeks. This week I ended up going back to stock speeds, before re-instating my overclock. Framerates previously went from the high teens to the 40's mainly. Now they're almost never above 18, even in the shooting range mission! Does anyone have any pointers as to what I might have missed? It strikes me as odd that with the same settings, my game performance has gone through the floor.

Edit: this also seems to apply to DCS: A10. The familiarization training mission now gives me 8FPS!

Thanks for any help, and sorry for the stupidity that's causing my to post this.

Just read this and we have similar systems. All I can think of is, when you re did your o/c did you use your previous o/c settings?

Must be something you didn't set up as before?

I use 19 x 200 for 3.8GHz. 21 x 200 for 4.2GHz. I dont use hyperthread or speedstep. All settings are for power and speed. I would re check mem settings and voltages.

BS should be really smooth with your system. I have all settings up at max in game and only see occasional 25 fps at take off, mostly its 40 fps.

Hope you sort it.

Cheers.

Well that's pretty much what I used to get...maybe around 20 sometimes at take off. Now it's about 7. I used Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility which came with my motherboard. I returned to a profile I'd been using since I built it in January.

Windows Experience index went from 7.4 to 7.6 for CPU when I re-checked it today. I use 20x200 for 4GHz. I have the ram at 1600 MHz, 7,8,7,20 as it's rated for at 1.65v. I never touched any of the voltages, as I never needed to. Its really strange that the performance has changed so dramatically. I'm wondering if it's worth re-installing both sims (I also need to check the performance on some other games to see if that's been affected.

Edit: do you know what file I'll need to make a copy of if I want to save my controller configuration if I uninstall and do a fresh inshall?

Double Edit: This is not a black shark issue as far as I can tell. I can't tell where the problem is, and I'm not sure how to locate it. I am unable to get good framerates in other games, suggesting a re-install would do nothing.

Could a mod please move this to a more appropriate place, as I guess this is a hardware issue, not an issue with ED's sims.

Edit MkIII: I changed some things I didn't really understand in the BIOS which couldn't be tweaked by the Tuning Utility. FPS back into the 50's & 60's Hooray!
