all credit for the throttle quad as seen in those pics must go to the manufacturer. ;)

aaah. I'm far from updated :-) I compared the pics you posted to the version I know (attached). I played around with the linkage to a pot to achive something like shown in your pics but never got it working satisfying, so I swapped to the TM version instead.

Do you know what year (aprox) was this new version of the Throttle Quad introduced ?

Cheers

Gus

Hey Gus,

I would say that this version of the throttle that I have was made in the mid to later 90's. They did away with that monstrosity of brushes in the front of it, have the pots, the switch guard, and NVIS Green A backlighting in this one.

Thanks for the update Red.

Agree on the 'monster' topic there. Even if they added a nice touch of "kriririrshhh" feeling and sound. I removed and replaced'em with two qual pots and linkage but never got it to work proper and swopped to the TM instead. An option for the future effort :-)

any ideas where I can found a plastic button like from your switch? or perhaps anything similar, a hat switch, etc. I found directional switches that im gonna mount on my hotas, but they come without a button...

Deadman, if you don't want to answer, you don't have to.

but anyways, when you don't know what to look for, google becomes useless.

i tried button, plastic button, knob, pushbutton, button cover, directional button, nothing will show those things. so I'm just asking what to look for. perhaps if someone knows where to buy the thing, it would help, if not, that's ok, just no need to be sarcastic, as this is no stupid question.

for example, I've been looking for hat switches everywhere, for about a week, and didn't find anything. then Colin came and told me to look for SKQUCA, and voila, found them.

:)

You asked where not how to find some one to sell you one at a reasonable price.:sly:

So your looking for an F-16 A-10 grip Switch cover possibly a 0.25 second search possibly 1 minute to type it in and type this response to you. so a couple of minutes work. Here endeth the lesson:pilotfly:

Look at the third entry then kick you self in the but:wallbash: don't take it out on me if you don't know how to use the net:smartass:

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

wow, thats it, thank you!

btw, it's not about how to use the net, is about very specific terms in a language that's not my native one. I never heard it as "grip switch" and just saying that term you help me a lot, but if you'd rather give me a lesson along with it, that's up to you, it helped a lot nonetheless.

Drama can go elsewhere boyos, thanks very much.

Oh, and I am now the proud owner of six real UFC master caution light switches.

Pics to come when they arrive.

If anyone wants one but isn't prepared to hear the price for a real, nigh impossible to find aircraft switch, don't waste your or my time. :bye_2:

Sorry Deadman - not doing this for drama, but good a natured ribbing and laughter:

It's the fourth return on that search - :megalol:

Excellent find though! That one should be in a "home cockpit parts sources" thread :)

Thanks. Getting everything mocked up that I can will just make the actual fabrication that much easier in the long run, and I'll know that real stuff or stuff that I make to specs will fit now or later if there are mods or upgrades to the pit.

Jesus, just build a real a-10! Sometimes I forget that this is a forum about flight sims and not actual aircraft building lol.

Sims for some people are keyboards and mice, joysticks for others, partial pits, etc. Deadman and I are insane and we want it all.

Putting it in a hypobaric chamber deadman? WOW this is getting extreme! :smilewink:
