GAJ52
I know this is in the wrong forum section, I have posted it in the Tech Support - Missions and Campaigns section for a few days with no reply's. I could do with some advice from anyone who has experience with this mission, basic question is as follows:- How do I get the second pair of A-10C's (Bore 2-1) to do anything. I have selected the frequency 124.0 VHF AM and called them off station, they answer "Leaving station" but then just seem to RTB. Bahger
I can't get them to respond to commands either. There is something very off-kilter about the buddy flights in this .miz, and has been since the early Betas.
bluepilot76
In my experience with these "other" flights, you dont get to tell them what to do, you just tell them to join the fight, and they say leaving the station, and they go about doing there business. Certainly in one of the campaigns, the one where you take off from Batumi, at some points you have several other flights; CAP, SEAD etc. If you see a MiG painting you, call the CAP. The CAP will say leaving the station or something, next thing you know MiG is dead. Same with SEAD (for SAMS) etc. At least thats how I thought it was working. Bahger
The confusion here. if I recall correctly, is that the other flight is has the same callsign as the player's flight and are numbered 3 and 4 (I think), leading you to believe that they are second element of a 4-ship under the player's command. WarriorX
Did you try looking in the F10 menu for any commands? That is a common spot for mission designers to put player controlled triggers. GAJ52
Yes, that was to call them off station, which they acknowledged, then they did nothing and RTB'd. Thats about the time a manpad gets me  GAJ52 Intel i7-7700K @ 4.60GHz | 32 GB Ram | Win 10 Pro 64 | GTX 1080i 11.00MB | Saitek X52 Pro
WarriorX
Remember to maintain an altitude that is above the manpad threat, and use your flares when you think you might be in the envelope. nomdeplume
You might have called them off too early. They're just in a holding pattern until you call them, and then they fly the rest of their pre-determined flight path, looking for bad guys. If they see any then they'll engage them, but if they don't see any they'll go home.
GAJ52
Thanks, that's a good point but I think it might be the opposite....I'm calling them too late. With this mission I normally have labels on and try to kill as many enemy units as possble (I know its not very realistic but its good fun). This means by the time I call the second pair of A-10C's there's proberbly not a lot left. Although more enemy units do keep popping up, by that time I've run out of ammo, thats when I normally call in the holding A-10C's.
