I said no to the boxed version as I already created my own boxed version DVD along with the patches. However, if new databases come out (outside of Nellis which is supposed to be free for pre-purchasers) I would seriously look into that. Seems to me a Mid-East database would be approprate!

No, unless the boxed version has a printed manual or other such goodies to justify a purchase. I will buy a second copy though, for a friend.

Make that, a corrected and well bound and printed manual and I would be in too.

same for me, but it is unlikely to happen, but maybe a collector edition would be nice(at the same price of the retail for beta owners would be nice)

I am buying the hard copy to help with sales and to have a hard copy on hand made by Eagle. We need all the sales we can get. I might even buy a copy for my son so he can use the Uber Cougar I gave him.

What I do not get is why we saw hardbound manuals back in the day, Falcon 4, Janes F/A 18. What exactly changed that it is no longer done? Surely dev costs have not risen that much relative to back then?

If I, like others, want a printed colour and bound manual then I know a great company in London, given the right volume can produce at a reasonable price. All I need is an idea as to how many would be needed to get a price. I'd pay £45.00 for it and no more.

Mower, those grand manuals were part of the downfall of great sims like Falcon 4 and Janes F-18. It was money out of the Dev's pocket making the margin to slim to justify further development or new development. Eagle has come up with a new business plan that works and is working really well so far as I can tell. Want a grand manual. Make one from the software copy in your game files.

If money was plentiful, yes. Supporting ED is important to me; I want more great AC!

But, money is seldom seen. No. I will not.

I would pay no more than £20, or £30 for a full-color manual. I already have one, laser-color, loose-leaf on a 2-ring binder. I keep it near the bedroom sidetable to whack intruders over the head with. I can always say that I read that before I go to sleep and was the first thing I grabbed when the thief woke me.

Support ED? Yes, definitely. DCS A10 is very well worth the purchase price. Buy TWO copies of one game? Not if a "hard copy" is all the reason to own one. But hey, if they throw in a poster-sized map of the region or some other goodies, yes. But just the game, a case, some spiel on the cover, and a quick-manual inside? No.

Anyone here seen the Starcraft 2 collector's edition box set? If DCS A10 comes up with something like that, I'm in.

Will you also buy the upcoming boxed version of DCS A-10C although you already own the download version?

I went to the page that said, I DID BUY THE BOXED VERSION. I bought the boxed version and if I wanted to push the issue from a legal standpoint, I should still get the boxed version. I paid for it already.

The down-loadable modules are good enough. But I was expecting at least a CD mailed to me from England to my address here in NY State, USA.

But as long as the download module files work with solvable solutions, I will not make an issue of it.

I still want to do Blackshark DCS at some point in time, save my money for that.

Yes, with a picture reduced A5 black and white manual ;)

EDIT: Price increase up to 60 eur acceptable for this bundle..

And who would edit the manual, practically for free?

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

I hate my DVD-player.. it sounds worse then a divebombing stuka! All my games are bought as downloads (except IL2 1946).. Can always re-download them if they break!

So no more DVD's for me!
