Will.Z
Hey all, I stopped messing around with sims after getting my PPL, but the DCS A-10 is truly a masterpiece that has sucked me back in :D I'm having trouble with sensors getting fixed on the SPI. Here is an example: -Approaching target, I set the SPI with the TGP -Press china hat forward long to slew a maverick to target area and engage -After passing the target, I can't reset where the TGP (or a maverick) is looking, sometimes I'll try slewing back in front of the plane but this is confusing and I get 'lost' The only way I've found of resetting the TGP to an area in front of the AC is to set the hud as SOI, slew the square box, make a new SPI, then china hat forward long to slew to the new SPI. My understanding was that china hat aft long resets the SOI in front of the plane but this does not seem to work. For me it just keeps slewing to the SPI (I have checked the control assignments). Is there a better way of doing this? Or maybe a command that resets the SPI to the current steer point. Thanks, Will

nomdeplume
My understanding was that china hat aft long resets the SOI in front of the plane but this does not seem to work. China Hat Aft Long slews the TGP to your current steerpoint, regardless of what your SOI or SPI is. Or maybe a command that resets the SPI to the current steer point.TMS Down Long will reset the SPI to the steer point. I believe it'll work regardless of which sensor is the SOI. Try China Hat AFT Short = Boresight TGP ...if the TGP is the SOI. :)
bluepilot76
I have a basic way of remembering this, for the long commands anyway.. Forward = SPI Aft = Steerpoint so; TMS fwd long = make SPI China hat forward long = slew all to SPI TMS aft long = SPI to steerpoint. China hat aft long = slew all to steerpoint. When I realised this simple rule I stopped tieing myself in knots everytime I wanted to launch a mav. Hope it helps! Technical Specs: Asus G73JW gaming laptop... i7-740QM 1.73GHz ... nomdeplume
China hat aft long = slew all to steerpoint. This only slews the TGP to the steerpoint, so it's not a direct counterpart to 'china hat fwd long'.
