Mule
Hi, I have set up a small touchscreen that can output all the data from both mfds. I did this using icemakers great utility. The buttons around the edge are exported to the screen using Helios. I can't get the buttons to function using the bindings. I have used Helios for about 3 or 4 hours so i imagine it's me being a dumb ass with that. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. What i mean by help is. Is there an alternaitive and easier way to get those buttons to work with the A-10C? am i doing this right by getting output data using Icemakers utility and then using Helios? Real noob to all this Cheers! this is that set up Edited May 6, 2011 by Mule Fighter Pilot Podcast.
majapahit
Hi, I have set up a small touchscreen that can output all the data from both mfds. I did this using icemakers great utility. looks great (I do not have a touch screen) The buttons around the edge are exported to the screen using Helios. I can't get the buttons to function using the bindings. I have used Helios for about 3 or 4 hours so i imagine it's me being a dumb ass with that. Helios is quite confusing for noobs (my opinion, not Helios' :)) If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. What i mean by help is. Is there an alternaitive and easier way to get those buttons to work with the A-10C? am i doing this right by getting output data using Icemakers utility and then using Helios? Real noob to all this Cheers! this is that set up how did you set up your 'profile'? my noob pocedure would be .. find a existing profile (you did?) .. find what you want .. the MFCD's (you did) do a 'reset monitors', keep what you want, delete all rest (you did?) or start you own profile .. copy wanted MFCD's to you own new profile (2 instances of P Editor) BUT .. you have to 'install' = (Profile) / Add Interface FIRST = DCS A10C interface) .. or you'll loose all bindings, and your newly copied MFCD's wont works (.. because all buttons will be unbound) there's also a tutorial somwhere about setting up Helios with a Touch Screen device you'll probably will have to check this tutorial/setup to make your screen work (I only use mouse, and do change all 'swipe' to 'touch' (=click), and the easiest way is Search/Replace the XML profile, or its will be time consuming) (.. then again you only want to use a touch screen interface, prob) this helps? P.S. next to Preview, is the Profile Explorer Tab here you can see which 'Interfaces' are installed for A10C profiles A10C interface needs to be installed Before any past from another profile (that has A10C installed) adding an interface will also CHANGE/EDIT your export.lua backup your export lua hit Setup DCS A10C and this will be done for you and needs to be done only 1x (you can export Helios over a network, you need a special ecport.lua file) EDIT: errr .. specifically conserning MFCD's I can remember to have read somewhere .. that all OSB need Input state bindings .. that you cannot 'check' (Preview) the state of the OSB bindings .. that its rather complicated to set your own MFCD bindings .. that the path to your own MFCD's is to copy an existing MFCD from a (renowed) uplooader (Gadroc or paulrkiii) .. again: your profile editor must have A10C interface ADDed, or nothing will happen .. double check after copying that Input Bindings MFCD have 'content' (but do not show a specific binding) .. dont ask 2cts Edited May 6, 2011 by majapahit | VR goggles | Autopilot panel | Headtracker | TM HOTAS | G920 HOTAS | MS FFB 2 | Throttle Quadrants | 8600K | GTX 1080 | 64GB RAM| Win 10 x64 | Voicerecognition | 50" UHD TV monitor | 40" 1080p TV monitor | 2x 24" 1080p side monitors | 24" 1080p touchscreen |
airdog
THis is similar to the procedure above just with 2 Helios editors open: Download Gadrocs profile HERE install the files into the helios/profile folder Open up 2 instances of the Helios Profile editor. In the first one open up Gadrocs profile In the second Helios Editor open and select new profile Select file then add interface select DCSA10C then add In the DCSA10C interface window the box Labeled A-10C Setup may have a button to "Setup Interface" push it if you see this. Now double click the monitor you want to put the MFD's on in the preview window to the upper left(lets just say its monitor 2) this monitor will open up in its own tab Uncheck the fill box to the left so all you see is a checkerboard pattern for your monitor Now go to the helios editor you opened gadrocs file in Select monitor 2 to see the gadrocs front panel click on the left MFD so you get a blue box around it the select control C on your keyboard to copy Now go back your profile and click on the monitor window to make sure it has focus and the select Control V on your keyboard to paste the MFD onto your monitor..... Resize the MFD bezel as required DO the same procedure for the right MFD HIt save often while doing all this You can do this for any panel you want....it carries the bindings of all the buttons and gauges so you do not have to do it yourself Airdog | Asus ROG Strix Z370-E Mobo | i7 8700K @ 4.7 | 32 GB DDR4@3200mhz | Gigabyte 2080Ti OC 11GB| Samsung M.2 960 Evo 250Gb and 500Gb | Win10 Pro | Hotas Warthog #02743 | Track IR 5 | Toshiba 47" 120hz LED | Acer 23" Touchscreen | HELIOS |Oculus Rift-S| http://www.blackknightssquadron.com/

I have everything running in admin mode. Gonna do the old re boot and start again see if that helps. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
Gadroc
Hey Mule, Make sure before copying the MFDs into your new profile that you already have added the DCS A-10C interface. Do this by clicking Profile -> Add Interface from the menu. Select DCS A-10C. You will see a set of options make sure to click the "Setup DCS A-10C" button. This establishes the connection between Helios and DCS. Now copy and paste the MFDs out of my profile and they will retain the bindings from my profile. You may also want to try adding "-t" to the command line of the Helios shortcut to try disabling the special handlng for touchkit. You may be encountering a bug with it. If that is still not working make sure if you are running DCS as administrator you have to run Helios as administrator and vice versa. Mule
Woo Hoo!!!!! works like a charm. The command line adjustment did it. Is it a 30 day trial with Helios? If not where do i pay or donate? Fighter Pilot Podcast.
Gadroc
Helios is donation ware. There should be a donate button on the control center or you can go to the http://www.scsimulations.com homepage and donate there. If you are missing the donate button on the control center you're not running the latest Helios. Download it from the link in my sig.
