RCtrl + RShift + numpad 4 & 6 for left and right respectively. 2 & 8 slide you up and down too, and * and - slide you back and forward

Can't remember what the other numpad keys do when Rctrl + Rshift are pressed but most do something IIRC

also you can lean left and right by going into free view mode (left alt and C). Then press the Scroll Key and drag wherever you want. really cool.

but yeah, I would love more camera tips for people like me who do not have the trackir yet.

Thanks for the tips, but I still can't move to see the radio beneath the throttle :(

Not sure about what you are trying to get at but the buttons on the NMSP can be clicked through the stick. If you move your cursor in the right area you will see it change and show the tooltip even though you cant see the button. Does not help with seeing but at least you can click the buttons.

The keypress to see the radio panel is Right Alt + Right shift + /-Num,

just hold it and the camera moves back a bit, so you can easily select your frequency without having to guess.

To recenter the camera from this view press Right Alt + Right shift + 5-Num.

Hope this helps.

I had similar problems at first, as the throttle really is in the way of seeing the frequency display, especially when you need to dial up the frequency in a ramp start scenario where you do ask the ATC for permission to start up and easy comms is turned off.

thanks.i'll try it.it seems we need to spend a lot

of cash to get the most out this game what with

getting a thrustmaster etc

I would not say spending is a requirement but this sim has provided me with the "justification" for a few upgrades!:music_whistling:

I can't seem to work out how to get the pilot to lean left and right etc like i've seen in some youtube vids. Can anyone tell me which keys to press? Thanks

The optimum solution is to use the snap views: Hold "0" on the Numberpad and press the numbers from 1 to 9 MFCDs, Console views, TACAN/ ILS, etc.

Num 0+ 1 or 4 is the Comm Panel IIRC

P.S: there is a snap view switch as well, look into the controls config under "snap view"

I really love the mouse look in DCS.

As jpanside said, hit lalt + c to toggle between free look mode and clickable cockpit mode (I actually use this so much I set it to space and moved the cannon to enter). In freelook, hold down the middle mouse button and move the mouse around or scroll the wheel (while continuing to hold it down!) to get the extra 3 degress of freedom you're looking for.

You can practically put your face through the glass of the canopy and you should be able to maneuver your view to see any thing you want, even the "Aces II" label on the side of the seat and the front side of both the throttle and joystick. Using it correctly, seeing the radios should not be a problem!

exactly what I do, I have a button mapped to my joystick next to the POV to do Lalt + c, so I can seamlessly switch between the two and though I have a throttle on my joystick the POV switch up/down also dose the throttle and POV left/right dose the speed brake.

Has done me ok over the years in sim’s
