strtok
Is it possible to raise landing priority with ATC? I've had a few times now during one of the campaign missions where I've been shot up pretty good, and have multiple system failures or engines out. I'll make it back to base, only to have the ATC tell me to orbit. Shouldn't I get priority ?:)

Frostiken
I anchor my wingman because they turn into airborne swerving suicidal cruise missiles on my approach. I almost got beaned by one when it cut across my nose with less than a foot to spare (and subsequently crashed into and killed the other retarded wingman who was about to do the same thing), and another time, well, he didn't miss :/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Practise landing together with wingman where you lead, make sure you are flying fast enough on the approach and don't extend your air brake befor tuchdown. To see how landing is done by the AI you can set up a mission with 2 AI on approach and watch them land. Thats how it's done. (HJ)
hassata
I got nailed by my wingie last night on final after an almost perfectly flown approach as per CDU Divert info. First time trying it off of the CDU, too :(. If there is an RTB command, I'm going to try that and then fly his wing to touch down. sam777777
I wish they were to fix ATC with ALL the proper options, ATIS and all. Also squawk codes etc, emergency landing, having the runway on a different frequency to taxi control and being able to acknowledge or ask a repeat when it comes to commands. Its fairly simple scripting isn't it? I wouldn't know. <VAAF> Virtual Australian Air-Force :joystick::pilotfly:
sobek
Its fairly simple scripting isn't it? I wouldn't know. It has to work correctly under many parameters, so less easy than one would think. CompressorStall
I can live with not having the full set of ATC options I just wish I could hear other flights communicate with the tower. ESzczesniak
Well, this rarely is so much the case on land bases, but blue water ops on aircraft carriers the stricken/damaged aircraft actually does orbit while the remaining aircraft recover. When you have only one 400' "runway", you can't afford a burning hulk when you still have other aircraft airborne.

Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong, popping the speed brake on approach. Maybe I can shut up the wingie for once, and that he'll actually land with me. bluepilot76
Well its not like Heathrow or JFK is it. The problem is the ATC is buggy and c**p. You could fit half a dozen landings in between DCS ATC controlled landings. Im with Phuz on that. Your in command of your aircraft, if you have some major issue that requires you to get down asap and the tower cannot realise that then just get it down. On the other hand unless you are not on fire or running out of fuel, if you have managed to limp back to base, chances are you can limp around in an orbit for 5 minutes. The thing is just landing would result in you being grounded probably. ATC going wrong has caused collisions before (IRL) so just landing your plane would quite possibly cause deaths. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
Tailgate
I would assume the best thing to do in MP is call or Text for an emergency landing. If AI is around, do a field check (if able) and see where the traffic is, cut em off if you have room. I'm sure they'll go around. ;) eta: When you're calling or texting in MP, be sure to give the runway direction. I've seen a few folks taking off and landing the wrong direction that ATC designates.
