Yes, here is your handbrake!

You must have a Logitech keyboard that has those bitchin' G-keys and the profile software. This should be pretty idiot-proof for those who've never used it before.

1) Make a new profile.

2) Make the profile look like this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3) Make a new macro on the key of your choice.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Name it, press 'start recording' (I suggest not using delays), press 'W' once, 'stop recording'. Then right click and delete the 'up' function. Close it.

5) Do the same thing for the next key.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

6) This time, delete the W 'down' function, then right-click and hit 'insert delay'.

7) Make it 50ms. Without this delay it won't release the W spam. You're done.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1 - ALTERNATIVE) To only use one key, you can make it a toggle. Create the W macro, but do not delete any of the up or down functions.

2 - ALTERNATIVE) Click the macro, then cause it to repeat on a toggle.

Celebrate.

I've also included the profile. No idea if it'll work on all models of keyboard or not.

PS: Probably best to not quote this post.

I do love my G series hardware (13,510,35,700,9) but that had not occured to me. Put the F keys and a couple other things on mine for left hand convenience.

I added the brakes axis to a rotator of the X-52.

So when I do rampstart, I turn the rotator halfway to engage the brakes, so my A10 is not moving when there is wind.

Note; this only work when at least one (right side?) engine is running so you have enough hydrolics for that

L'important n'est pas de tuer, mais de survivre.

if you read this you are too curious

One should be able to do this with an X-52 and X-65 as well, and I would assume, just about any other programmable HOTAS.

What is "chocks in"...the emerg brake?

No sorry, chocks are only an option on inferior, WWII flying pea-shooter games **runs away**

Hi,

I consider me somewhere near idiot sometimes, especially this Warthog sim. Using the English terminology of idiot-proof and fool-proof terms are dependent upon the fact they (whoever THEY are) keep making better idiots or tend to evolve as we age.

I have the Logitech G15 with 18 keys that can be setup in macro, 6 G-keys in 3 different modes.

But I have not figured out how to do that, yet. I have wanted to use the G-keys as ways to add shortcuts similar to my CH gear mappings. Of which would be nice to have a way to setup Right Shift + Right Control + either 4, 6, 8, or 2 as a single button click (push) for interior cockpit view.

I do like the LCD little output screen that keeps me informed in several various pages, including CPU and memory being used at the time and who is on, on TeamSpeak.

I hope your tutorial helps me.

If not, I bet your idea will be embellished more as hopefully this thread grows.

Thank you for the effort.

I have programmed Wheel Brakes in VAC and it works good. One command "Wheel Brake On" that is set to toggle "W" key. And one command "Wheel Brake Off" witch just press the "W" key once, that releases the toggle key in the first command.

You should have no problems doing the former, as the software does differentiate between right and left shifts. Make sure you add small delays between key presses because otherwise the glut of characters at once can confuse it.

For the latter, someone* made a cool airfields information app for the screen. I don't know where I got it from, but I've attached it to this post.
