Suicide with R73

Recommended Posts

Probably the most likely option, yes. I've seen heaters intercept incoming missiles before . . . . and splash damage from the warhead seems to be modelled reasonably well . . . . .

Still kind of cool.

I remember I was playing Flanker 2.5 online once and took a BVR shot with an R27ET (back in the days when you could still do that) - but ED had obviously modelled the lack of datalink . . . . . and very shortly afterwards there was a very large explosion just to my left in front of me as Megile (my wingie at the time) got blown out of the sky :p

Nearest heat source was always a big attraction to them ;)

I had this happen once to be before with a KH-25 antiradar. Almost immediately after I fired my weapon I was hit by a SAM but my missile recorded the kill. It probably exploded too close to my AC.

and I've seen even weirder things before, I killed myself with my own gun in multiplayer once :)

I saw at least 3 different times people get own goals by R-77's in difficult launch conditions while dogfighting.

While doing a bombing run (CCIP) I released and went negative g and blew myself up. I've also fragged myself with 97s(Ask Cali I think he saw me do it lol).

Yea that was funny as hell. but it was a nice drop!
