BSOD: Power_driver_state_failure randomly occurs while playing...HELP

Recommended Posts

got another blue screen, will post the minidump- this was five minutes after I finished playing- I noticed my SF Jack Bauer Profile was not behaving as it should (shiftstate pinky key did not shift modes). I was trying to pull up the saitek profiling software to take a look- no response for five minutes and after multiple presses- finally came up with this minidump- I'll post below

I did not go back and reread the thread but I think you have said before that some BSODs were happening even when you were not running DCS. I assume this last happened while using the hub?

Hmmm...this one is going to be tough. If it were mine I would probably be close to wiping and rebuilding the thing. But that's me, format is my friend!;)

No bright ideas at the moment. I shall think on it and you can see what others have to offer.

for some reason I could not get the switches to perform their second function- I was doing navigation training and needed to call Batumi Airbase and could not get the mic switch to function. Is it the pinky switch to shift modes or am I doing something wrong (or perhaps this is an indication that an external USB is needed).

In my opinion that would be a yes.

I know my gaming laptop is not real happy if I have too many USB devices drawing power...no BSOD just quirky behaviour.

(Slightly OT)

This is why $79/year for an Amazon Prime account is worth it. If it is shipped and sold by Amazon (third party stuff not included), two day shipping is free and overnight is $3.99/per item. Depending on timing, I have actually ordered from Amazon and had the product in my hands in less than 24hr more than once.

also check ths out. With the saitek plugged in (no hub remember) my internet on this site was running really really slow (unusable)- now with it jacked out both the SST profiler software and the internet (in terms of speed) work flawlessly.

Let me give you a similar example from my own hardware. My ASUS laptop with a USB disk drive, wireless keybd, wireless mouse, and my X52. If the mouse got too far away it started dropping the signal. Low power equals weak signal strength.

WiFi can suffer the same issues. Some USB WiFi units I have used are very picky about signal strength.

got prime for that exact reason! :)

Cool. I promise you, mine has more than paid for itself. Hell, I got two packages today and have three due tomorrow (plus the really important one from NewEgg -- i7-2600k).

HEY LUCIFER...

the BSOD was from the same cause... an NT kernel error... not good as it could mean many different things (****ing figures eh?)

try that hub tomorrow.

if the hub doesn't work, I want you run a mission that starts you in the air (surronded! in SP missions does) and immediately hit autopilot without your stick plugged in.

some more questions:

1. how long have you had your stick and have you flown with it before?

2. can you borrow a stick to test?

3. what is the air speed velocity of swallow?

Hey everybody,

Checking in for the first time today- gonna go to best buy for sure- can anyone reccomend a REALLY good quality hub that is normally stocked by Best Buy? It would really help me out. Haven't had the chance to try ARMA with the autopilot on immediately yet Jeff- just got on my laptop now. Just gonna do some research on Best Buy for a little bit- hopefully somebody can kick me a good suggestion.

and of course there is NOBDOY on this thread today...I mean I've been working on this for days- I just want to be able to enjoy the software. I've invested in a new pc, a new joystick, trackir, and now an external USB hub. I just... I really don't know... If somebody who uses an external USB hub and a saitek x52 nonpro, please tell me what you use

Alright, first off take a valium.

then realize computers are evil, right? I've been where you are many times and it always sucks. Sorry i wasnt araound today... 14 hour day.

Now re-read that previous post of mine... i want you to fly A-10 on autopilot not arma, sorry about that. answer those questions too please.

If a-10 plays on autoipilot with no stick attached then we know its the stick is either f00ked up or is drawing too much power.

please read my posts carefully... I have 10,000 hours of PC diagnostic time and repair over 1,000 computers a year. I ask those questions and make those suggestions for a reason. ya dont read and answer them, your stuff aint gettin fixed.

I Guaran-freakin-Tee you we're going to fix this.... hang in there. and remember, Computers are......

Hey Jeff,

Looking at it, yep I kinda exploded. Sorry about that. I ordered one more USB from amazon- 5 star reviews 185 out of 204- the belkin just was way to small and did not supply adequate power- so hopefully the large box coming tomorrow will help. When I plugged in the saitek to the belkin, I immediately had to reset my USB ports because of a power surge. I will get to my laptop and try it soon- can you tell me how to put it in autopilot? I'm confused about what you want me to do. I should run autopilot with the saitek OUT of the usb port? How will this let us know if the stick is fcked or drawing too much power?
