ME Survival Upgrade Pack v.0.1

Please regard this code as 'beta'. This is a collection of some code snippets put together to allow you to do Copy & Paste in 1.1.0.8.

ED may be kind enough to include some of the basic features in a future version.

 

Requires: DCS:A-10C 1.1.0.8

 

Major features:

- Multiple selectable groups for copy & paste.

LCTRL+C = Copy

LCTRL+V = Paste

LCTRL+X = Cut

 

Other minor feature fixes:

- Grouplist stays onscreen while working in map, instead of dissapearing when you accidently click in the map.

You should now close yourself when you dont want it on screen anymore.

- Air & Helo groups will now remember the name instead of reverting to "New Air/Helo Group" every time you create a new group.

 

Copy & Paste features:

Supported:

- Air, Helo, Static, Ship, Vehicle - any kind of types of groups at any time.

Not supported:

- Navpoints, bullseye, TriggerZones, cyclones.

 

LEFT SHIFT = modifier for paste. Will paste all groups to the same coords.

You will notice the Ruler change into a single point, or multiple points depending on SHIFT state.

You can cut / copy units - then delete them - and paste them back in. Units which have been deleted by (X) stay in memory if you copied them before deletion.

If you have problems, try this:

- Select first group.

- Hold LEFT SHIFT while selecting more groups, one by one.

- Release SHIFT.

- Copy, using LCTRL+C

- Release CTRL and C.

- Move the mouse to a new location.

- Optional: Hold LSHIFT, for a focused paste, with CTRL+V if you want to paste to *one* location.

- LCTRL+V for regular paste.

Known issues:

FEATURE, not a bug:

- Allows groups to be pasted over terrain they do not belong to.

Not planning to fix this yet. Worst problem would be drowning static units or other funny ingame events. (PS, ships on lakes wont work in SIM due to SIM-code).

You're the designer - you can deal with it.

- You need to do a COPY before doing a PASTE. Doing COPY, then PASTE PASTE won't work right now due to unforseen problems when COPY & PASTE text in other TEXT-boxes.

 

Minor Issues:

- Air & Helo: Waypoints are not snapped to airfield for TAKEOFF and LANDING. You need to readjust these yourself.

- Vehicles: Route on road needs to be recalculated. Drag and drop route to reset waypoints.

You cannot report bugs to ED while having this mod installed.

This MOD may break your MISSIONS. Make sure you have backups of your missions while working on them.

 

However, you can report bugs to me regarding ME:SUP fixes. Please attach the ME.log when you report an issue.

- Please report step by step what you did to produce the problem.

- Please attach pictures to describe the problem.

- Please attach the mission you were working on.

Just had a play:)

 

Quite outstanding but I was scratching my head somewhat as it had followed the path to my beta instal and I could not figure out why it was not working;)

It's always the money.

The feature to be able to build missions don't sell the game. It keeps the game alive but for ED it costs money to develop.

ED is paying attention - they just need to prioritise. Anyway, when we're giving them a bit of code, they need to clean it up a little so there's work involved there too. But I'm hopeful in regards they will add a bit of code snippets for some future version.

That means this urgent need didn't make it on top of the ME-To-Do-List for about seven years?? Hard to understand from a (MP)-mission-builders point of view. Especially since the community (Blindspot and now you) offered some solutions already.

 

I hate those evenings, where I had to put 12 aircraft with each about 12 WPs... takes hours...

Yes, I'm 200% with you. You know that I love to make missions.

 

But user made missions woun't bring money to ED. That's why ED don't prioritise it.

That's the way it goes... sadly...

I didnt notice it was gone, thanks for reporting it.
