mia389 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 In a mission I have been testing my radio is getting out of control. I have a couple of SEAD flights and they are talking all the time between each other. Is there a way I can tune them out? I heard other clients calling ground. ATC talking to one. Flight of F16s talking about targets and my FAC talking. I figured the F16s and ATC would be on one radio and FAC was on FM 43.4 or something. Oh yea Appachies were also talking. I just don't want to hear the AI flights communicating. Maybe its because I use easy radios. Any ideas?
Frostiken Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 You can change the radio they use in the mission editor, AFAIK. All the default missions seem to leave everything at 124.00 AM and call it the 'guard' channel, but this is hardly realistic - guard channels are for emergencies... and most aircraft confine most of their chatter to the UHF frequencies. REL Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I just don't want to hear the AI flights communicating. Maybe its because I use easy radios. Any ideas? Well that's how it's done in real life + highly anticipated feature
Crashdown Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Well, first off you should just give each flight its own UHF freq, so that you don't have to hear them when they talk between each other. And then, as soon as you are comfortable with the plane, you should turn off all the radio assists: the radios are actually very easy to use, although it takes a moment to get used to operate the radio switch on your HOTAS insted of using the generic radio key that is only good when talking to the Ground Crew.
nomdeplume Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Best option would be to put them on a different frequency so you can listen to them if you want to, but you don't have to. If there's just particular periods where they're talking too much, you can also use the advanced waypoints section to add set option -> silence: true (tick the box). That'll cause that group to not use the radio until you give it a 'set option -> silence: false' command.
mia389 Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 OK, Im off to the editor to change their Freq. I never touched it so Im guessing it put all on same. I thought guard was 121.5
