Zeke Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Been pulling hair (what's left). Before the last patch I was getting all the JTAC info on my TAD and the messages. Now I don't get the messages sent. My ID's are left to 01. How do I know if I have the right ID numbers punched in and were do you find that info before the flight? Sorry for such a numb question, but I couldn't find any answers via a search or looking at the manual.
lanmancz Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 good question. Also I'd like to know how can I set grp and id for a selected unit in mission editor. or is that automatic ? Snoopy Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 It is Automatic AFAIK every aircraft in your flight will have the same GRP no.. Nate As we all know that doesn't work in MP since you can't assign multiple clients to the same flight in the ME. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
REL Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Hey Are those numbers related somehow ? (see the blue Mark) 1. Group ID 2. Own ID
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 IIRC no they aren't related, the NET ID seems to be assigned to a particular flight in the order they were added to the mission. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Wayc00lio Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 No Rel, That's your flights assigned call sign. lanmancz Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) so is there a way to find out in which grp the selected unit (in misson editor or mission planer) is ? i mean i usualy play random cas missions which i edit in ME to create a predator drone jtac over the battlefield but I never got the datalink working in such missions cause i never know in which grp the drone is. Nate--IRL-- Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Predator Drone does not send Data because it does not have ELPRS capability. GRP ID is not the issue there. Generally there should be no case where you need to worry about Net ID at all. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

We need something (maybe it exists and I just don't know it) that states what will send data and what will only provide a 9 line. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
lanmancz Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 thanks Predator Drone does not send Data because it does not have ELPRS capability. oh, I didnt realize that, thanks Generally there should be no case where you need to worry about Net ID at all. So it means that if the jtac unit is ELPRS capable that we should be able to receive the data even when we're not in the same grp? We need something (maybe it exists and I just don't know it) that states what will send data and what will only provide a 9 line. Yeah I think the phrasing should be reworked for non ELPRS units - however there was talk of reintroducing DATA for these units, I'm not sure where that ended up though. So it means that if the jtac unit is ELPRS capable that we should be able to receive the data even when we're not in the same grp? Zeke Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Here's an example on a mission I'm trying right now. Call sign is Hawg 11. what Group ID and Own ID should I enter in the TAD? I've tried leaving them at 01 and with changing the Own ID to 11. Neither worked. Bort # is 10, have no idea what a Bort # is.
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 So I can set Net ID to 7321 and JTAC will know and send to the right address? Try it and see :) Here's an example on a mission I'm trying right now. Call sign is Hawg 11. what Group ID and Own ID should I enter in the TAD? I've tried leaving them at 01 and with changing the Own ID to 11. Neither worked. Bort # is 10, have no idea what a Bort # is. You shouldn't have to touch the net ID, as anybody in your flight will already have the same Net GRP ID. Bort is the number painted on the fuselage IIRC. Zeke Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Ok, Nate thanks but what 'Own ID' # should I use, 01 doesn't work.
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Doesn't work how? Keep in mind your JTAC must be ELPRS capable to receive data. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 If you try a large mission you should have a Group ID other than 01 - but I'd imagine that changing your Net ID in mission would break your Datalink with JTAC every time. In general, just ignore the Net ID completely in mission, you will only break things. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Kaiza Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 If you are making your own mission to try this, make sure that in the ME actions list of the JTAC EPLRS is above FAC task or else you data will not come through.
