zero
No doubt I have to upgrade. Need some info: 1. According to Asus manual there is not that many clicks to set the PC for 64bits. Right? 2. Upgrade from 32bits to win7 64 is not that easy. I will lose files. 3. I have most games on partition F. Will those be saved as is? 4. Some programs are stored on C. Such as Uniblue Registry booster. Can I save the program on HD or DVD. Or must I store the download and key -and re-install? 5. emails? Will I lose the browser with my emails? How and what to save? Thanks A10 :joystick: !!!!!!! Shez
Back up anything you want to keep on a seperate hard drive drive or DVD. Whatever you prefer. As you noted it won't save files on your instal drive. Good luck! _:Windows 10 64 Bit, I7 3770 3.4Ghz, 16 Gigs Ram, GTX 960, TM Warthog, Track IR 5 w/Pro Clip:_
EtherealN
Your e-mail application should have a backup function that lets you backup your email and account settings. Games will sometimes work, sometimes not, when run from a separate partition on a new OS that does not have the registry keys and such for them. Some games will be able to create new registry entries on their own, others will just refuse. Darkstorm
Go to the Microsoft wrbsite and you'll find a How to' for migrating from Vista 32 to Win7 64. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7-custom The process is straightforward but does take some time. I did mine a month ago going from Vista 32 Ultimate to Win 7 64 Ultimate. It went without a hitch and once the programs are reloaded then most work immediately as the links etc are saved by the transfer system. Allow at least a couple of days to do it though. And follow the instructions to the letter, and also make a note of any non-default program installs so you put them back on the same drive/partition. zero
I have followed the microsoft upgrade Vista32 to W7 64 (12pages)all the way with green lights.. Except for the final .exe According to the instruction there should been a window with two alternatives first. But my upgrade DVD starts with only one .exe Hitting this .exe -there is a warning for not 32 compatibility. And you must run it as a reboot installation disc. I have tried this, but no cigar. Here is the copy of autorun txt. [AutoRun.Amd64] open=setup.exe icon=setup.exe,0 [AutoRun] open=sources\sperr32.exe x64 icon=sources\sperr32.exe,0 Edited June 18, 2011 by zero

A great tool to use prior to install
