BoneSaw Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Is there anyway to transfer fuel from the right internal tank to the left internal tank? Friggin right eng got shot to shit and now I am running out of fuel in the left eng trying to RTB. Right tank has a crap load of fuel in it but I can't figure out how to get that fuel to the left tank.:helpsmilie::helpsmilie::helpsmilie:

BoneSaw Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Flip the Cross Feed switch on the fuel panel by your left knee. In fact I was looking for a cross feed switch and I looked on the fuel panel but didn't see one. Can you be more specific on the procedure?
cichlidfan Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 In fact I was looking for a cross feed switch and I looked on the fuel panel but didn't see one. Can you be more specific on the procedure? Not sure that is the right procedure but here from the manual. Crossfeed Switch. Although the A-10C fuel system is designed with two parallel fuel systems, setting the Crossfeed switch to CROSSFEED will link the two fuel systems and allow the boost pumps to feed both engines. If the Crossfeed switch is set to OFF, both fuel systems are isolated. You would most often use Crossfeed when one of the boost pumps fails. 5. Tank Gate Switch. Linking the left and right main fuel tanks is a transfer valve that may be opened by setting the TK GATE switch to the OPEN position. Setting this switch to CLOSE will isolate the two tanks from each other. Generally you will want to keep this switch disabled as being enabled can lead to fuel center of gravity problems. and the panel ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! LostOblivion Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) You generally cannot transfer fuel in the air, but what you want to do is make the engine only use fuel from the tank with the most fuel. To do this, you need to enable crossfeed by setting the CROSSFEED switch to ON, and then disable the tank pump for the tank with the least fuel. So in your case, disable the left internal tank pump, and the tank fuel levels will equal once the engines have used enough fuel. Edit: Wrote wrong about which tank to disable fuel pump for...
