Intriguing quote from Wags: "We envision DCS as an open-ended simulation environment. While we are currently focused on high-fidelity simulation of modern aircraft, we also intend to later broaden it to other types of vehicles, at different levels of fidelity and at various historic eras"

This should bring on a lot of speculation in these forums. :)

hi,

But at this rate we're talking about decades of development, unless they are willing to give a boost to the project.

We need to know the next..........Only next

Im actually rather surprised that the next DCS module has'nt been revealed yet, maybe we wont know until its released :P

Agg, there's some fairly straightforward logic to this: ED wants the focus to be on the product that was just released. Telling everyone what DCS:Next is right now would reduce attention to DCS:A-10C. Simple enough.

If I remember the official statements right (HUGE caveat there!), the nature of DCS:Next will be announced a couple months after physical launch of DCS:A-10C is complete - that is after the last territories got the DCS:A-10C Warthog retail DVD release. Until then there is no amount of begging that will make them announce it. Just enjoy DCS:A-10C. It's a great sim, have gun. :)

Nightmare, there are ways to expand this without talking decades. Consider the fact that ED has some considerable skill in seeking market synergies towards developing products, and markets aren't the only thing where you can find synergies. You can place things such that development for product X also can be used in product Y and Z. The future will tell.

Sure...until I pop up from behind a mountain and destroy your tank ;)

Ahhhhhh yes, that will be a blast. It will be even better since the tanks won't just sit there like ducks in a pond, ie you kill one and the rest will scatter looking for cover..... true hunt and kill warfare! Can't wait!!!
