Madman777
Amazing article about the 74th Expeditionary 'Flying Tigers' in Combat Aircraft magazine!! Without ruining the 4page article here is a couple of quotes from Hog pilots... Regarding the use of weapons in Libya "...if we carry two GBU-12's we will, by nature of the weapons pylons, only carry one GPS-guided bomb. The gun is used 99% of the time." Regarding the CSAR the A-10C were tasked to do after French Mirage went down in Libya "...securing the area wasn't a problem as I think the people in the towns had got the message that they really shouldn't mess with them. The aircrew were only 100m from the wreckage as they had baled out at 200ft and 170kts." I think it's amazing that the A-10C is not only involved in every war going on right now, but is kicking ass in them as well. How lucky we are to have an A-10C simulator come out as well....sim heaven. tflash
Well, I posted this earlier but didn't get any reaction. I'm still intrigued by the "only one GPS round" quote. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77207 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MoGas
Well, I posted this earlier but didn't get any reaction. I'm still intrigued by the "only one GPS round" quote. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77207 I see what you mean, I guess it is a weight thing. As you can see, RL, A-10C/A over Afghanistan, not flying around as we on the server full packed lol. They even let the jammers and heaters at home, not really a need for. And I believe they want the A-10 as light as possible.

Vekkinho
Like I sad looking at many screenshots from DCS:Hog, you guys load too many weapons when flying. I know that having 6 Mavs and Rockeyes is lovely and gives a great punch but IRL your maneuverability in combat area would be seriousely reduced. After reading Haun's A-10s over Kosovo i noticed these guys like flying light! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Cali
Real A-10's don't get loaded to the gills, but this is a game and people can press refly :D i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
Mogster
I always feel that you don't really suffer a weight penalty in flight sims like you would in rl. Maybe its the lack of genuine feel that's absent in sims.
Madman777
tflash - Sorry I missed your post. I love the fact that the gun is being used 99% of the time. Goes to show that even with all those fancy weapons, the gun is still the king. i7-12700k, 32GB Ram, RTX 3060 12GB, TrackIR 5, Lots of SSD Space, etc etc DCS World - All the cool modules

Cibit
Me too Poko, I can tell when I am clean or half a payload or full. Its even more apparent at rotation speeds;) I would not know what its like with 6 mavs as this is a 1337boi loadout which I avoid like the plague:thumbup: i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
Madman777
I notice the difference in weight big time. Lately I've been carrying only one maverick under each wing to make thing more realistic. And only using them for AA threats. The tanks have been getting an easy ride in 1.1.0.9. Because the CBU-97 doesn't work. Since CBU-97 doesn't work, I've been going old school and using Mk-82's. GBU-12's are good as well. In multiplayer smaller payloads are okay because you can count on your wingman. In singleplayer, it's a bigger issue because your wingman can be retarded and you need the extra punch sometimes. i7-12700k, 32GB Ram, RTX 3060 12GB, TrackIR 5, Lots of SSD Space, etc etc DCS World - All the cool modules

Haha, I've found that tanks have been getting an easy ride for a while thanks to the SAM/AAA heavy environments that mission builders seem to be so fond of. I can't get enough Mavericks to deal with the battalions worth of Tunguskas, Strelas, and Shilkas that seem to be in every mission I play. Standard armor is an afterthought once you've been clearing out SAMs for hours.

LaRata According to the A-10 pilots a Mirage went down. I've seen photo's but I can't confirm myself. The French deny it.
