JAG
Hi guys HID Macros works really fine with the previous patch, but with the latest it only recognices single keys press, i.e. M or N, but no longer Shift + N or Alt + M, anyone else have the same problem? PeterP
I know that my reply wont help you at all (and otherwise the Sim runs fine until I want to use it with other DX tracking programs...)- but I just want to say: I'm also waiting for something like a little change-log for 1.1.0.9 from the devs. :) Edited August 21, 2011 by PeterP
JAG
Hi PeterP, nice to see you (or read you :smilewink:) Yeah me too, the latest patch is great, but I have hope they switch back to some of the great things of the previous one, in this case hidmacros compatibility with the sim. shu77
Which patch was it working with? I was not able to get it to pass the modified keystate without it passing the unmodified state as well. JAG
Hi shu77, I've been using hidmacros since the first release of the game, and the last time it worked fine was with the patch 1.1.0.8. I don't understand exactly what you mean with passing unmodified state, maybe you are talking about using scripts? I only created the macros, asign the key combination, push the button and select when it will be triggered (button pushed or not), and that's all. By the way I've testing Xpadder and it works perfectly, however it's not as easy and quick to create macros, but it has more options. Saludos (Cheers) I was trying to use HID to make a second Keyboard into a CDU with the CDU keys assigned to various things (mostly LSHFT Letter) I would find though that when I pressed G on the second keyboard for example the CDU would get a G key press but also the landing gear would toggle. The author of HIDMACRO suggested it had to do with the way that DCS was trapping the input type. JAG
The same happend to me, not sure how it works but looks like the sim detects before any other app any keystroke, that's why when you press G, you see the landing gear down and after that the macros you created. However fix this is really simple, there are two options: 1-Erase any action assigned to a single key press 2-Change the single key to a non used combination i.e. (LShift + RAlt + G) I choose to erase all of them and just leave as they are the functions keys for radio comms, but that means you shouldn't use any of the functions keys in your second keyboard. I tried to use a second keyboard for a CDU input and it worked fine, but sometimes hidmacros "forget" some key combinations and before flight I had to map them, but were like 5 or 6 keys, not the entire keyboard. Hope it helps and if I can help you with anything else let me know. Edited August 22, 2011 by JAG Quick guide to configure ABRIS and LCD mini monitor Quick Countermeasure Editor v1.3.0 Core i5 3570K 4.0Ghz | GIGABYTE MOTHERBOARD | Crucial M4 120GB | 8GB DDR3 1600 MHZ | ASUS GTX 670 | AOC LED 23" | AOC LCD 24" | HYBRID DUAL THROTTLE (SAITEK THROTTLE QUADRANT + SUNCOM DUAL THROTTLE) | CH FIGHTERSTICK | SAITEK PRO PEDALS |
shu77
So both those options kind of defeat the purpose of using HIDMACROS :) Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools
JAG
Maybe my answer was a little confuse, when I said change the key combination I was talking about options > controls in the sim not in hidmacros. It's the only way to make it work without having double actions as you said, it takes time, but no more than the same amount of time it takes to configure your joystick or hotas. Edited August 23, 2011 by JAG Quick guide to configure ABRIS and LCD mini monitor Quick Countermeasure Editor v1.3.0 Core i5 3570K 4.0Ghz | GIGABYTE MOTHERBOARD | Crucial M4 120GB | 8GB DDR3 1600 MHZ | ASUS GTX 670 | AOC LED 23" | AOC LCD 24" | HYBRID DUAL THROTTLE (SAITEK THROTTLE QUADRANT + SUNCOM DUAL THROTTLE) | CH FIGHTERSTICK | SAITEK PRO PEDALS |
Mr_Burns
Its a pity there isnt another more robust system, HID has a few flawes. You mention X padder being harder to program, is anyone actively developing these or anything similar? X Padder only changes pads to keys not keyboards? Also, does anyone have the problem that HID loses the name you assign ro the USB keyboard when its been unplugged? JAG
Hi Mr Burns Yes it's a little bit complicated, but with time and practice you could learn to program it, about another similar program I don't know anyone. Yes sometimes hidmacros don't remember keyboard ID, it happens to me with a mini bluetooth keyboard. And yes, xpadder works only with usb gaming devices, I'm using it with a race wheel, a gamepad, and three joysticks, even the saitek pedals are recognized, too bad it can't be used with multiple keyboards.
