GGTharos
Missile warning sensors. Looks like this photo is from one of Kamov's birds, not the VVS birds. It could also be the LWR, but I think you can get away with smaller sensors for that. IIRC. Torment
Definitely an MWS. Has an optical sensor that looks for heat/light signatures consistent with a missile. Looks nearly identical to the one's that we have on the MC-12. Vecko
Tnx guys...I guess that number of produced Ka-50s is equal to number of modifications of the same aircraft...:) One more prove that "Black Shark" is just introduction in something what we call today "Aligator"...Who knows, maybe some day ED decide to...bla bla...;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
GGTharos
^^^^ Maybe. The VVS, AFAIK, has the helicopter we see in game. Kamov has their own helicopters that they keep modifying and trying to sell. The 'Alligator' is a Ka-52, and having a twin rotor is about the only thing it has in common with the Ka-50 ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Were there any modifications to increase composite materials percentage in the total airframe mass (and or reliability)? GGTharos
Kamov did a lot of modifications - especially to their own models. No idea what, if anything, the VVS did. The Ka-50 in game is one of the helis as presented at that time. EtherealN
As a minor note as well - it's extremely dangerous to draw conclusions about the Ka-50 as it is in service based on Kamov's own birds. It's a bit like saying F-15C's should have TWC because there were experimental birds that had it, or that J-32's should have radar because there was one that had it. (It was used by SAAB to test the radar for the J-35.)
