Russia Invades Vegas, VIP is stranded at the OMG hotel.

 

Huey has to Take off from some Random Spot outside of the City, Fly all the way to Vegas, and Extract the VIP from the ROOF of the OMG BRAND Hotel, then Fly to the SafeZone through the buildings to avoid Enemy fighters overhead, while avoiding Surface to Air Fire from Russian Tanks, while KA-50's Patrol the City Looking for you :)

 

If only I had a place to spawn Russian Fighters realistically.

 

 

KA-50's and MI-8s will be all over the place, as will Russian Ground Vehicles, place some man pads on the roofs of a few buildings...

 

I guess the Russians Took over Nellis, and deploy flankers from there, and Allied have to Depart from Groom Lake to Re-Take Vegas..

 

I shall Call it..

 

"Battle Las Vegas"

 

 

So:

Groom Lake = Allied

Nellis = Russian

Vegas = Hot Zone.

 

HUEY Mission = Extract VIP (Checkpoint Based), and Destroy something important

 

KA-50 Mission = Search and Destroy Any Rotary Wing Aircraft Attempting to Rescue Allied Personel

 

MI-8Mission = Same as KA-50 + Support Troop Movments.

 

F-15 Mission = CAP (Counter the Flankers/Migs)

 

Flankers/MIGS = Scramble (Counter F-15s)

 

A-10A/C Mission = Bomb the bejesus out of Nellis to Allow Ground forces to Move in

 

SU-25A/T Mission = Bomb the bejesus out of Groom Lake to Neutralize the Allied Resistance.

 

P-51D Mission = Whatever they want

 

Combined Arms Mission = Support Hueys from the Ground, Clear Path through Vegas, Move to Nellis and Re-Take Nellis.

 

 

Bam.

my take for the fantasy Las Vegas war scenario would be a Russian oligarch buy a gambling franchise that after the deal is signed goes bust, he is angry that he was robbed of his investment like this by the americans, since this Russian has a couple of connection in the Russian government a bold punishment plan is enacted where a couple of Su-27 fly from the nearby Canada Air show to Las Vegas to intimidate the previous owners of the bankrupted gambling enterprise back into paying their dues.. US senate and Congress uses this opportunity to lament against Obama cutting the defense budget by 1.2 billion dollars and are claiming US will not be able to defend US airspace because of this alarming deep harmful cuts..

 

As media goes crazy of Russian Su-27 and Mi-8 terrorizing the lying cheating US enterpreneur who is hiding in Las Vegas Strip joint using all the money he got from the russian bussinessmen for one last lap-dance the world watches in horror to what exactly is happening..

 

People specualte this could all be very well a deliberate show by Las Vegas as a whole since business has been slow and some mega-block-busting opening "night" show could be in-play and are not taking the whole thing seriously at all while politicians scramble to make sense of this all..

this is the only "realistic" scenario i can think of if Nevada is to be a battleground )lol.. and it suits DCS engine where short battles can be enacted with small amount of units..

Expected see them that animation of ocean or similar into the EDGE in the future (far far future). If the ocean will be see in DCS: World, the naval ambient can be blow up (Minute 9:00).

Why is this video circulating on DCS Topics all of a sudden?

 

I can tell you that the Physics in that video prolly chewed up every spar ounce of rendering and Processing power.

 

I doubt you'd be able to add multiple Sea and Air Units, plus the AI, and Avionics systems emulation and keep 60 FPS.

If their GPU isnt DX11, there's 2 or 3 possibilities.

 

A. Software Emulation of the DX11 Features (doubt it).

B. or they'll prolly use DX10 Libraries w/ DX11 Features Missing,

C. or be stuck with pre-edge Caucaus.

DirectX 11 is a product of 2009. That goes pretty far back as far as GPU coverage. If you're pushing up on 5 year mark on hardware, most games will crawl anyways.
