To some extent, that's what ED did with Lomac ;) We can't personally copy the code to Lomac, and the smoke and particles graphics stuff is entirely new since Flanker. I personally don't think it would make much sense to reintroduce the F2.5 smoke and effects, even if it was possible for ED to do it. IMO, the smoke and vapour looks the oldest part of the graphics engine - but considering how beautiful the rest of it is, I think I'm prepared to live with that ;) The clouds and lighting just blow my mind . . . . every time. Was flying an Su25T campaign mission and the rays of sunlight were shining through the overcast . . . . . and those wisps as you're flying around the edges or up through the clouds . . . . mmmmn . . . . .
