DCS Site Login Issues

This is not the first time I've had this issue but here is what happens.

 

I try to login in to the http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com site but it won't let me enter my entire user name to login. My user name is the same as the forum here: Hitchhikingflatlander but the DCS site only allows me to enter: Hitchhikingflatlande

 

I really want to login so I can purchase the BS2 upgrade before the sale is over. Can someone assist me with this?

Could you login before this? Also what browser are you using. I just tried with Safari and the name would fit in the box.

Yes I've been able to login before but I also had this problem with the purchase of FC2 and DCS Warthog. My account is valid and active so I don't know. I use Firefox if that helps. I'll try logging in on IE and report back if successful.

Update: I was able to login with IE but an issue still exists.

 

I tried logging in on the left side bar and still it would only allow me to enter Hitchhikingflatlande

 

It then told me "invalid password/login name" and brought up another login screen that allowed me to enter my full user name. When trying the same thing on firefox though I don't get that "second" login box.

 

The site admin needs to edit the site to allow users to login with as many characters in the login box as is allowed when you initially register with the DCS site. It would seem to be a simple fix (I know this isn't always the case).

 

I know I have a long user name but if able to register that name I should be able to login with that name without having the last character cut off. Thanks ED for reading this.

I still can not loggin even after I clear the browser cache and cookies. I am running IE9 and its up to date as far as i know. I will look in to using a different browser, and see what happens, thx for the heads up.. 5x5

I download Chrome and that seems to have fixed it for me, E store working fine now,Thanks ED you guys are great:thumbup:

IMO The proper fix would be for that to not be an issue in the first place. Does ED know what causes the issue? Browser based?

 

I guess its just hard for me to understand why the site wont allow a user to log-in their name with as many characters as the registration process allows. This has been an issue every time I've made an online purchase thru ED. Understand I'm not trying to be a PITA here although it sounds that way. I mean this may affect a low number of users but given this is related to making purchases, some revenue loss could possibly be shored up by fixing this.

Not yet unfortunately. Being worked on, but from what i understand the problem is deep in the relevant code and the required fix is non-trivial.
