While this looks great, simmeters doesn't have all the A10 gauges even if you have the dough to buy them all. If you can find the rest of steam gauges from eBay, you may still have to use the monitor after all for whatever steam gauges you can't buy. So using a monitor may still be necessary.

Actually, right now they have the airspeed, VVI, G-meter, and AoA. They are currently building an engine gauge cluster pack, eHSI/ADI (although I heard they are trying to make an actual HSI with navigation info) and a fuel/Hyd gauge set for the fuel panel. The only thing I see with the Altimeter is that in a steep descent (hard dive) the pointer goes slower than in the sim... But that that could be just my PC.

I am definitely going to get the IAS, VVI and AoA for the front panel. When the others are done I'll get those too. If I can upload the video, I'll post it for sure.

Edit: price for the altimeter is 200€, free shipping within EU. Not sure what it is outside the EU. If I were to buy a real one, or build one myself, because I'm terrible at building these things id probably spend 3 times as much.

Not. Sure which to get next thou, IAS or VVI. IAS is 200€,VVI is 150€. I might be able to get one for my Bday in August. Hehe

Thoughts?

Are you sure you want to get all steam gauges? The cost of each alone can buy a monitor that can simulate all gauges with Helios. I'd rather start everything with the cheapest method possible. Then later as funds become available i can choose to upgrade whatever I like. But that's just me.

It's been a while since I could do anything towards my pit due to family and work schedule. I've been working on some panels thanks to Reactor's panel files. I'm using black PVC sheets to make the panels, trying to keep the costs as low as possible. Down the road I can update them for backlighting, but I'm not worried about that for now.

Here are two panels I'm basically finished with. I have the aluminum cut for the backplate for the ELEC panel. I just need to drill the holes. The AHCP is only the faceplate so far. I'm currently working on the landing gear and Fuel/Hyd panel. After that will be the MFCDs and the fire pull handle area so that my front panel is finished.

Very nice Jack !!! you are quite successful.

Not hesitate to show us your future panels.

I see that you can not make the holes oval, it is already just fine.

PS: Sorry, I have not answered your last email, I was very busy. But given the result of your panels, you found the solution.

Haha, you caught me. After trying a few different ways, I ended up cutting the text out of the printouts I used as a stencil (the ones from reactor). In cutting the text, I made sure to go as close to the white as possible to avoid extra black showing. Then just used a glue stick. I think they look great, except I just noticed from the picture that I did the ELEC panel upside down. (long angle side should be on the bottom, right?)

Black PVC sheets 3mm thick for the middle and top panel. The baseplate is 1mm aluminum sheet. I printed out ReactorOne's panel files at 100%, and first used them as a stencil to get the proper size. After I cut out the holes (all by hand with an exactly knife), I cut the printed panel text and glue it onto the PVC.

It's been a few days since I could post anything, but here's a work in progress picture of one of my MFCDs alongside the Thrustmaster mfd bezel. Yes, I did actually cut all the squares (times 4... 2 faceplates, 2 middle "lightplates") by hand with an exacto knife.
