your welcome

but be careful !

tail rotor rotation needs 2*-5* times rotations more (means 720-1800 degrees rotations) than main rotor 360 degrees rotation (depends of helicopter)

unfortunatelly many helicopter got default-wrong tail rotor rotation animations in DCS :(

questions:main rotor

fps=????

speed=1/2x or 1x,...2x.4x...

Is there any way to open the city and town .blk files?

There are no public tools to open output files. Im not even sure if any exist in general

I would really like to redo the tree assets in game around the cities and towns but I am limited with the file format access.

.blk files include more than just trees from what my memory is telling me. Think of them as templates that contain buildings, trees, own textures, etc.

Yes, I did figure this was the case...

Big thank :smartass:

uhh, sorry :doh: i thought we are talking about seahawk/blackhawk rotors (4.6 : 1)

osprey - does not matter: same rotation (RPM) for left and right rotors/propellers

left rotor rotation: clockwise

right rotor rotation: anti-clockwise

Since there is no argument for blade pitch, I would say use the wheel argument. wheels down = blades up, wheels up = blades pitched forward

yeah, or flap animations: Arg 9 and Arg 10

i think flap Args are better - if you speeding up, flaps will automatically slowly raised (FC3) - aircraft mode (flaps up)

sorry Zach but are you talking about rotor tilt ?

Does the ospray have flaps? If it does maybe use both arguments. flaps for blades from horizontal 45 degrees. Wheels for 45 degrees to vertical

i am asking everybody and Alex O'kean: can the SFM (FC3.dll) handle a non-horizontal thrust ?

a rotating thrust by connectors ? or is it always AFM ?

yes, i would like to get SFM VTOL aircrafts (first) :thumbup:

i hope E.D. is going to add/sell/implement more SFM FC3-style aircrafts

of course AFM DCS-style aircrafts should be better (later) but these need too much time :(

Not sure about SFM. But with EFM it's possible.

thought, but as far as i know (external flight model) EFM = a non E.D.'s AFM ? right ? so it's "too" complicated and needs too much works/times

but in SFM "everything" is simple:

thrust brings speed

speed brings lift and drag

but we need "only" lift without speed :)

I set:(same rotation)

fps =100

start time=0

end time=720

0->360 foward

360->720 revert

slowly rotating propeller!!!

Yes and yes. It's especially time-consuming if you are not a professional programmer and/or (aeronautical) engineer. Creating aircraft in FSX is possible for anyone... creating aircraft in DCS is not.

but in SFM "everything" is simple:

It's in the name. :) SFM is simplified. It cannot simulate anything but horizontal thrust. (A decent V/STOL aircraft is simply not possible.)

If your flaps are big enough, you don't need vertical thrust:

Joking of course, but that is actually how most of the MSFS VTOL mod planes worked.

yes, that's true, i tested SFM a lot but lift come about min. 80 kmph / 55 mph so that's not a S/VTOL :(

unfortunately SFM aircraft needs speed for lift ( thrust and flap surface does not matter up to this minimum speed )

I have try to installing the EDM Plugin but no support for the 2013 is available, even the version 2014 of the software its now available...And i can't check box (i have try cause maybe with luck the 2012 EDM plugin can work with the 2013 but nothing).

Any solution or any future support ?

You dont. They only support 2010,2011,2012. Future supported .max versions is unknown
