reschke Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 OK I am just now getting to the point where I can get Flaming Cliffs 2 to install and run on my computer. Don't know why but it didn't want to work until I bought this last copy of Lock On Platinum and installed it yesterday. So now what do I need to do in order to fly the Tomcat or Hornet in Flaming Cliffs 2? I am jonesing for some naval air ops in jets and since I can't get the Janes F/A-18 to work on my Win7 rig I guess this is the only thing till DCS can get us a good naval update in that series. blackbelter Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Pray for this feature in FC3 is all that you can do.
reschke Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 I thought there were some mods out there that allowed this but I can not find the downloads to drop them in. I have looked around the VNAO site which I found from some google searching but I can only find the videos of Tomcats and Super Hornets but nothing else other than the words that they have the mods available. EtherealN Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Well, if you want naval ops, there is the Su-33. Not sure about F-14 mods unfortunately. I've never looked for that myself. Jona33 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 VNAO. Virtual Naval Air Operations. Gives you Superhornet and Tomcat D. SvkSniper made a F-14 pit, still a WIP but it replaces the F-15 one. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
pacotito Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Check lockonfiles there was a flaming cliffs 1 mod for both of those planes. I'm not sure if they made it to fc2 but they seem to have the most mods for lock on and dcs. Pacotito I7-5820k@4.5 Z99 extreme4 16gb ddr4 520gb ssd. Gigabyte ssc GTX960 SSC 4gb

Dr_Arrow Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I just wonder how many ppl want to fly two seater aircraft in sims that do not support two seat aircraft, thus making them highly unrealistic. Flying the Tomcat or two seater Super Hornets without RIO (either AI or real) is pointless in my opinion. Cooperation with RIO in such planes is absolutely essential to their flying and is a big part of training. Just my two cents.
Moa Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I gave up modding for DCS/LockOn (and slowed down VNAO modding) and started work on my own simulation. I intend supporting two seat operation of aircraft. I have no release date yet as I've only been working on it for three months and want to make no promises (I'll cut features to get the first public release out the door, if I have to). I hope for something simple (two flyable aircraft, quality between FC2 and DCS) at the end of the year - but no promises. The only thing I will promise is that I will release something eventually. I'll give more details later in the year so expectations will match my implementation. Meanwhile dream about multi-seaters, and support ED. @Riptide: thanks for posting that link.
blackbelter Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 For as long as ED do not allow modifying aerodynamic and electronic system models of built in jets, mods are just a way of cheating ourselves...
NRG-Vampire Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 For as long as ED do not allow modifying aerodynamic and electronic system models of built in jets, mods are just a way of cheating ourselves... You can mod the aerody and the systems too. Especially in DCS. Probably will better and easier modable in FC3 also. Cheat ? Online - yes Offline ? Just call it - Hack :D
reschke Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Thanks for the links and information. As for the "realism" well sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do to get some virtual stick time with the aircraft that you want to play with. Warthog #1397...compliments of SimHQ
