you know, if you run A-10C 1.1.1.1 separately from world, you should still be able to de-activate from there right?.

<root>/program files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS A-10C/protect.exe.

no garauntee's it works, I clicked on it after uninstalling DCSW and it told me I had to Activate first.

why o why can I not find this path in my A10 c folder??

What version are you looking at? You have to go through the DCS World folder. Then follow the folder path as mentioned above. I just checked and it works fine.

Thats one way to do it, but it does not deactivate all of the modules you may have. 1.1.0.7 is a very old version. Make sure that you download dcs world 1.2.1. Do not pay any attention to what is listed on the patch page. It does not apply to this new update. Use this link to get the proper version for world. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en

The modules are located here http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=136&scr=products&lang=en

Being a bit slow this morning and not sure of the on screen directions.

Navigate to your DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/A-10C/bin/x86_64 (or x86) folder and open. Find the a10_protect file and double-click. Gives me the below popup.

activate1.png

Then i receive the below popup.

activate2.png

Am i deactivated at this point or do i need to click Next? Which i would have thought would activate it again.

A pop up saying 'deactivation successful' would be really helpful.

for the ones that uninstalled first... you can de-activate via starforce web

You must know your machine ID and Serial ID

I've got several boot partitions on my machine, two Win7 and one XP, whilst DCS is installed on a separate Games partition that is shared between all three boot partitions.

I activated DCS on all three whilst I was trying to diagnose some problems but now I'd like to deactivate it on the two I'm not using. I've also just uninstalled 1.2.0 and installed 1.2.1 on the one I am using, which is now asking me to reactivate but that's another problem. What I want to know is if I can use the 1.2.1 ka50_protect.exe to deactivate in the other systems (by booting to them first obviously), i.e does the activation get stored in the C: partition or the registry or is it stored somewhere in the DCS folder?

I haven't found a clear description of this procedure yet, only this

"Navigate to your DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/A-10C/bin/x86_64 (or x86) folder and open. Find the a10_protect file and double-click. Deactivate by following the prompts/instructions"

Do I need to deactivate both the A-10 AND DCS World.

I have successfully deactivated the A-10 module by using the above guide to find a10_protect, but when I found the dcs_protect there was not an option to activate or deactivate just 'Register Event Log'

No. Only A-10 which you have already attended to.

DCS World is free and not subject to DRM.
