Cali
I agree about saying stay away from ATI/AMD. Where did you come up with that 30-40% more than a 2GB card......stop making up numbers. I just saw 2 670 4GB cards for $459 and $489, mine cost $419. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130785 $459 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162118 $489 Edited August 5, 2012 by Cali i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
Kuky
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1387 4GB GTX670 for AU$599 while 2GB version as low as AU$399, that's 50% difference so I was easy on the % comparison as other 2GB cards were more than AU$399 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1309&products_id=19122 HD7970 for AU$469 obviously prices vary from place to place, or should I say continent :) Edited August 5, 2012 by Kuky No longer active in DCS... Inseckt
So I have finally bought and build my new rig:) Had it for a few days, and it is just so awesome i cant sleep. Ever. This is the setup I ended up with: Corsair 650D Intel X79SR I7-3820 Corsair dominator kit 16GB 1600MHz CL7-8-8-24 quad channel Intel 520-series 240 GB SSD WD velociraptor 1TB 10000RPM ASUS Radeon 7970 HD Corsair AX 850W intel Liquid cooling It runs all the latest games maxed out without even a single stutter og dropped frame, everything is smooth as a babys bottom. And allthough I'm just starting up with DCS, preliminary test are simply giving me goosebumps. never below 30 fps with everything maxed out, even over cities, on "medium pluss" active missions. GPU is stable at 55-60 C and CPU at 45-55 C (Plenty of margin and still a quiet experience fan-wise) I ended up with only one SSD, and so far I see no need for more HD speed. boot time is instant and like nothing I have experienced before. Christmas came early:) Inseckt Help Beczl with his DCS MiG-21Bis project by Pre-Ordering DCS MiG-21Bis module NOW!
