fastfed Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So.. I made a server with a mission I downloaded, so easy mode 4 vs 4 mission. I made the server, started it, asked my friend to join, he didn't see it, I alt-tabbed and realized windows was asking if I wanted to allow dcs to be public (or whatever is it asks) I clicked yes and remade the server. done, my friend sees the server, we play a good 30 minutes, it was great. My other friend joins my TS and I tell him about it, I left the game and reloaded it and started the server again. NOW NO ONE SEES THE SERVER We tried direct IP connect, NOTHING. I send the mission to my 2 friends and both of them try and make the server, NOTHING.. Cannot see it, nor direct connect.. Really SUCKS I've made a server a good amount of times and it seems its hit or miss, sometimes it works where my friends can see it and sometimes they can't Anyone know whats going on here? THANKS!
Supersheep Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 What happens when you connect via IP - does it immediately give you a Connection interrupted or does the Connecting... (or the like) message stay there for some time? This matters, because the first affirms that the server is indeed out there and was contacted by DCS or the master server (and some other issue is preventing the contact). The second does indicate that no contact whatsoever is taking place and might hint at a network issue. You can try the difference by intentionally entering a wrong IP. I can't help any further because I'm waiting for a solution of #1. Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
ENO Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I just recently went through the same problem... Was hosting 1.1.1.1 A-10... someone was in there and I was talking to them (I am working remotely through Teamviewer). He left, I shut down the game, made an alternate saved game file (wanted to keep some of the logs) and went through to install the latest version of DCS World. All smooth- installed A-10... all smooth... went in- changed my multiplayer configurations to accommodate the internet setting, noticed that all the ports were the same so my router was configured properly... Then once I had the actual mission installed I put up the new server, put it on internet... fired it up- and at the very best had someone say my server was visible but couldn't be connected to. Anyway- as it stands I'm not 100% sure what more I can do. All my firewall settings accommodate the same ports as are required... have particular exclusions to my Eagle Dynamics folder... etc. What am I missing?
