Software to externally modify stick curves?

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if there is a piece of software that will allow my to set control curves independently externally from a simulator. IE: software that will intercept stick position, apply the curve, then feed the result to the simulator.

The reason I ask is i have just tried to use my X52 with Secret Weapons Over Normandy (yes, yes, I am a blaspheming arcade sim player. It's still a fun game.) but that game has a built-in, non-adjustable deadzone, which accounts for a good 5-10% of the stick travel. I had never noticed before, because I've never owned a stick as precise as the X52, but with a good stick, the game is unplayable.

So, what I want to do, is to find a profile software that will allow my to apply a steep negative exponential around center stick to counter that deadzone. Any ideas?

The software that comes with a Warthog will do what you want but I suspect that is not the answer you are looking for.

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1

You cannot counter a deadzone in the way you would like to do. The game does not see aything there for you to edit with outside controls. I think there is a util called PPJoy or something that allows you to edit any joystick.

good luck,

JG14 Smil is probably correct regarding the dead zones.

It actually sounds like the game was designed to be used with an Xbox controller. Games designed that way tend to have a pretty good dead zone in the middle to deal with the sensitive nature of the ministicks.

yes, but the deadzone works by ignoring values lower than a certain amount. The way i intend to counter this is by setting a curve that ensures the movement of the stick gets the values higher than that amount rapidly, then evens out. This way the game sees the stick as having been moved further than i actually moved it.

If this software will work with the x52 and I can acquire it without buying a WH, it will do just fine.

Sorry, though it does work with some other TM sticks it does not work with other vendors.

TDU 2 being one.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
