I noticed that in one of the SP missions for CA that there are UAV's circling about. Is there any way to use them? One mission in particular there are 2 circling and seems to be only for recon. Can JTAC access them?:helpsmilie:

unfortantaly the UAVs can not be used by humans.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Correct. In a later version of CA, I hope we can add view from selected UAV through a sensor pod view.

Any chance we could get a sort of CA Road Map of things you would like to add/correct etc? Sort of so we can see the direction ED plans on taking it? Doesnt have to complete but just some idea of features and such you hope to add....

They can't, the forums would explode. Better to do it the 'Apple way'. Don't say anything, and suddenly BLAAM! The whole industry is changed ;)

You might say it would be 'revolutionary' and 'life changing'? :D

Tbh, i'd like to see some upcomming features listed too on what we might expect. Theres no harm in just telling someone what you're up to when you have a community dangling on your belt.

one A10 circling at +30000ft, transmitting SPIs to others and occasionally dropping an LGB, can be considered as an UCAV. With external tanks and full fuel load, you can go for hours and it looks quite the same as real CIA ops.

Much more useful and fun than ai uav.

Not possible I'm afraid. If something is mentioned, but doesn't happen for whatever reason, the forum will be on fire and the servers full of pitchforks.

Past experience has proven that silence is the better option. Blame the not very nice people in the past that made this course of action necessary.

They will show detected enemies on the F10 map though.

Thanks for the explanation guys. I know what to expect with this version.

I appreciate the followup Matt. Again great things to come for the DCS: World.

I've set up a Predator as an AFAC, works really well but as you've been advised, their path isn't controllable by a human but runs on the pre-determined waypoints designated by the mission designer.

Love to be able to have a UAV view though - and hopefully control it.

Only Skynet can use them?

I didn't know the mission editor was self aware. The product pamphlet said that it was powerful, but I had no idea.

The A-10 never carry ext. tanks in combat. Only for ferry missions.

You can loiter for hours at angels 30 anyways.
